<p><p><b>Highways Operatives </b> </p> <p><b>Industry: </b> civil engineering </p> <p><b>Location: </b> Isle of Wight </p> <p><b>Hours: </b> 7.30am - 4.30pm ( 39 hours per week, overtime may be required/available) </p> <p><b>Days: </b> Monday - Friday </p> <p><b>Duration: </b> immediate start - ongoing </p> <p><b>Duties: </b> </p> <p>Groundswork and civil engineering duties,<br>operation of machinery power and hand tools,<br>drainage, concreting, kerbing/ block laying and tarmacking. <br>Manual handling duties, unloading and loading vehicles<br>driving, vehicle checks and reporting maintenance,<br>adherence to health and safety and highways regulations, technical specifications and quality standards. </p> <p><b>Experience: </b> </p> <p>Must have good level of previous groundswork experience including hand lay tarmac.<br>Must have a full driver's license, 7.5 tonne (C1) driving license preferred. <br>Street works and NPORS plant operator tickets an advantage.<br>Must be physically fit, due to the nature of the duties.<br>Must be able to work well as part of a team, outdoors, in all weathers, with good health and safety awareness. </p> <p><b>Salary: </b> £13.38per hour worked, rates increase after 12 weeks. Overtime paid at time and a half.
