<p><p><strong>MCS Group is recruiting for two Future Power Market Managers to help shape how electricity markets evolve for a low-carbon future. These are high-impact leadership roles at the centre of strategic market programmes, influencing how energy is designed, delivered and traded across the all-island system. </strong> </p><p>You'll work with regulators, governments, industry partners and internal teams to design and deliver market solutions that support decarbonisation, system security and consumer value. </p><p>While one role will focus more on Market Analysis and the other on Market Development, both require strong leadership, strategic thinking and the ability to deliver complex programmes in a regulated environment. </p><p><strong>The role: </strong> </p><ul><li>Lead and deliver future electricity market initiatives </li><li>Shape market design to support the transition to low-carbon energy </li><li>Deliver high-quality analysis, modelling and insight to inform decisions </li><li>Support integration of emerging technologies (e.g. offshore wind, storage, hydrogen) </li><li>Manage complex programmes, ensuring delivery against milestones and targets </li><li>Build strong relationships with stakeholders across government, regulators and industry </li><li>Lead, mentor and develop high-performing teams </li> </ul><p><strong>Essential Criteria: </strong> </p><ul><li>Relevant third-level qualification with typically 8+ years' experience in an analytical, commercial or project environment within the energy sector </li><li>Proven experience leading teams, managing resources and delivering complex outcomes </li><li>Strong understanding of power market design and operation </li><li>Demonstrated ability to lead projects/programmes in a regulated environment </li><li>Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills </li><li>Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly </li><li>Experience mentoring and developing others </li> </ul><p><strong>Desirable: </strong> </p><ul><li>Experience with the Single Electricity Market (SEM) or European power systems </li><li>Knowledge of transmission, balancing markets and regulatory frameworks </li><li>Experience in market analysis, policy or project pipeline development </li><li>Understanding of decarbonisation and renewable energy policy </li> </ul><p><strong>Why Join? </strong> </p><ul><li>Play a key role in delivering a cleaner, more secure energy future </li><li>Competitive salary, bonus, private medical and pension </li><li>Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 days home) </li><li>Generous leave, wellbeing benefits and family-friendly policies </li><li>Career development and progression opportunities </li><li>Inclusive, collaborative and forward-thinking culture </li> </ul><p><strong>To speak in absolute confidence about this opportunity please send an up to date CV via the link provided or contact Kirsty Dillon Specialist Consultant at MCS Group </strong> </p><p>Even if this position is not right for you, we may have others that are.
