We all play a vital role in <b>energising a greener, fairer future </b>.<p>We're looking for <strong>commercially driven Contact Sales Agents </strong> to join British Gas and play a key role in growing and retaining our customer base. </p> <p>This is a fast‑paced, target‑driven role where you'll engage customers across <strong>voice and digital channels </strong>, predominantly through outbound activity, with some inbound contact. You'll confidently identify customer needs, present the right solutions, and convert opportunities across energy tariffs and service products - all while delivering an excellent customer experience. </p> <p>If you enjoy sales conversations, thrive in a performance environment, and want to build a long‑term career with a trusted household brand, this role is for you. </p> <p><strong>Salary: </strong> £29,416 basic + monthly commission (OTE commission £500 Per Month)<br /><strong>Contract: </strong> Permanent<br /><strong>Location: </strong> 29 Murdoch House, Bothwell Road, Uddingston, G71 7TW<br /><strong>Working style: </strong> Office-based during training, with flexible hybrid / work‑from‑home options available post‑training<br /><strong>Hours: </strong> Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm </p> <p><strong>What you'll be doing </strong> </p><ul><li><p>Proactively engaging customers through <strong>outbound sales and retention activity </strong>, with some inbound contact </p> </li><li><p>Winning new customers and maximising <strong>upsell and cross‑sell opportunities </strong> </p> </li><li><p>Retaining customers who are considering leaving or moving home through tailored, value‑led solutions </p> </li><li><p>Running targeted <strong>outbound retention and win‑back campaigns </strong> </p> </li><li><p>Confidently switching between offers based on customer needs and market conditions </p> </li><li><p>Championing <strong>British Gas products </strong> and supporting our transition to <strong>Energy 2.0 and Net Zero solutions </strong> </p> </li><li><p>Delivering a consistently high‑quality customer experience that drives satisfaction and loyalty </p> </li><li><p>Resolving customer queries first time wherever possible </p> </li><li><p>Demonstrating strong commercial awareness of tariffs, pricing, and competitor positioning </p> </li> </ul> <p><strong>What we're looking for </strong> </p><ul><li><p>Proven experience in <strong>sales, retention or customer contact roles </strong> (inbound and/or outbound) </p> </li><li><p>A confident communicator who can adapt conversations to different customer needs </p> </li><li><p>Strong commercial focus and comfort working towards <strong>targets and incentives </strong> </p> </li><li><p>Experience using multiple systems and digital tools in a contact centre environment </p> </li><li><p>Skilled in objection handling, negotiation, and closing </p> </li><li><p>A customer‑first mindset, with empathy and professionalism in every interaction </p> </li><li><p>Resilience and motivation to succeed in a fast‑moving, performance‑led environment </p> </li><li><p>Experience in the energy sector is advantageous, but <strong>not essential </strong> - strong sales experience is what matters most </p> </li> </ul>
