<p><strong>Job description:</strong></p>
<p>As <span class="rec-format">SHE</span> <span class="rec-format">Lead</span> Advisor for Naval Ships, you will <span class="rec-format">lead</span> the hands‑on delivery of Safety, Health and Environmental arrangements across <span class="rec-format">complex</span> shipbuilding and support programmes. Working closely with project teams, contractors and operational staff, you will implement <span class="rec-format">SHE</span> plans, <span class="rec-format">carry</span> out assurance activities and <span class="rec-format">actively</span> <span class="rec-format">manage</span> risk in dynamic environments.</p>
<p>You will provide visible, inclusive <span class="rec-format">leadership</span> throughout build, integration, test and trials, ensuring safe systems of work are followed and issues are resolved quickly. This role directly safeguards people, assets and programme milestones, enabling Naval Ship projects to be delivered safely, compliantly and efficiently.</p>
<p><strong>Core duties:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>You will support the development, maintenance and deployment of <span class="rec-format">SHE</span> <span class="rec-format">management</span> systems, including <span class="rec-format">objectives</span>, processes and assurance</li>
<li>Ensure you provide clear, <span class="rec-format">competent</span> <span class="rec-format">SHE</span> advice to <span class="rec-format">leaders</span>, enabling effective and inclusive risk <span class="rec-format">management</span></li>
<li>You will take <span class="rec-format">lead</span> on requirements to improve <span class="rec-format">SHE</span> performance, including implementing policies, <span class="rec-format">objectives</span> and robust risk <span class="rec-format">controls</span></li>
<li>This role will require you to contribute to innovative <span class="rec-format">SHE</span> change programmes that strengthen risk <span class="rec-format">management</span> and embed continuous improvement</li>
<li>You will deliver assurance to confirm compliance with legal requirements, the Operational Framework and <span class="rec-format">SHE</span> <span class="rec-format">Management</span> Systems</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential Skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Hold a QCF/NQF Level 5 or higher <span class="rec-format">SHE</span> qualification, such as a NEBOSH Diploma, an honours degree in Safety, Health or Environmental practice, or an equivalent accredited qualification</li>
<li>Demonstrate considerable influencing skills to help operationalise, integrate and deliver processes, projects and organisational change</li>
<li>Apply inclusive communication and collaboration to embed effective <span class="rec-format">SHE</span> practices across diverse teams and environments</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>The </strong><span class="rec-format"><strong>SHE</strong></span><strong> Technical Services Team:</strong></p>
<p>You will join a highly skilled, collaborative <span class="rec-format">SHE</span> community supporting some of the UK’s most critical Naval Ship programmes. Working alongside engineers, project <span class="rec-format">leaders</span> and delivery partners, the team combines deep technical knowledge with a pragmatic, enablement‑focused approach to safety, health and environment.</p>
