<p><strong>Role description:</strong></p>
<p>An experienced Professional Engineer applying Systems Engineering <span class="rec-format">principles</span> to radar system development across the full lifecycle, from requirements definition and design through integration, acceptance, support, and disposal. <span class="rec-format">The role</span> involves <span class="rec-format">analysing</span> performance data from modelled and real-world systems to develop system and sub-system solutions meeting functional and performance <span class="rec-format">objectives</span>. It provides technical <span class="rec-format">leadership</span> in evolving existing radar products and developing new capabilities. <span class="rec-format">The role</span> resolves <span class="rec-format">complex</span> engineering <span class="rec-format">challenges</span> at system and sub-system level, with engagement at the system‑of‑systems level.</p>
<p><strong>Core Duties:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Develop novel solutions to evolving technical <span class="rec-format">challenges</span> and emerging issues for <span class="rec-format">complex</span> Radar Systems that our customers and end-user communities are facing</li>
<li>Conduct system design <span class="rec-format">analysis</span> to <span class="rec-format">manage</span> trade-offs of <span class="rec-format">principle</span> system parameters in order to characterise and specify robust product design</li>
<li>Apply and <span class="rec-format">champion</span> the Systems Engineering <span class="rec-format">principles</span> of ISO 15288 to the design and build of <span class="rec-format">complex</span> Radar systems through the entire engineering lifecycle from requirement definition to system integration and customer acceptance into system support and disposal</li>
<li>Demonstrate the decomposition of requirements to system and sub-system level and <span class="rec-format">manage</span> these in an approved toolset such as IBM DOORS Next, and create and/or facilitate production of associated design requirement specifications</li>
<li>Direct and undertake system design decomposition and architectural modelling to subsystem level, including associated external and internal interface definition & <span class="rec-format">manage</span> architectural models in an approved toolset such as CATIA Magic (Cameo) or Enterprise Architect</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential Skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>You’ll hold higher education qualifications (or equivalent experience) in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline</li>
<li>You’ll have achieved, or be in the process of achieving, Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent capability), working towards relevant professional accreditation, or possess significant relevant experience</li>
<li>You’ll have <span class="rec-format">strong</span> knowledge and experience of Systems Engineering <span class="rec-format">principles</span>, applying systems thinking and holistic approaches to <span class="rec-format">complex</span> design and development <span class="rec-format">challenges</span></li>
<li>You’ll be well versed in relevant Systems Engineering standards (e.g. ISO 15288, ISO 24641)</li>
<li>You’ll have experience of requirements <span class="rec-format">management</span> (e.g. IBM DOORS Next) and configuration <span class="rec-format">management</span></li>

<p>Our workplace in Cowes is an easily accessible commute from Southampton with a regular foot passenger ferry and BAE shuttle service from the ferry terminal to site.</p>
