<p><strong>Job Description:</strong></p>
<p>The Senior Systems Engineer will support the FCAS/GCAP programme, contributing to the development of Prognostic Health Usage Monitoring System (PHUMS) approaches while applying modern engineering frameworks, standards, and tools. <span class="rec-format">The role</span> focuses on developing concepts and collaborating with customers and suppliers to define PHUMS requirements and specifications for prognostics, usage, and health <span class="rec-format">management</span> capabilities.</p>
<p><strong>Core duties:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Working within an international team to develop Prognostic Health Usage Monitoring System (PHUMS) solutions, contributing to a <span class="rec-format">complex</span>, fast-paced programme</li>
<li>Supporting engagement with customers and industry experts to elicit and capture user and system requirements for FCAS & GCAP PHUMS</li>
<li>Contributing to concepts and approaches for end-to-end PHUMS implementation, <span class="rec-format">management</span>, and delivery for FCAS</li>
<li>Supporting PHUMS specification and requirements during design and development, and overseeing implementation into service</li>
<li>Contributing to lifecycle strategies and plans for PHUMS development and delivery</li>
<li>Ensuring integration of PHUMS with wider programme areas, including IT, digital, infrastructure, and air platform interfaces</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential Skills:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>HND (Level 5) or degree in a relevant STEM field, or equivalent engineering experience</li>
<li>Knowledge of diagnostic, prognostic, health, and usage monitoring (PHUMS) <span class="rec-format">principles</span> and techniques</li>
<li>Experience developing requirements and specifications for <span class="rec-format">complex</span> systems</li>
<li>Experience defining requirements for ground-based systems (e.g. off-board PHUMS)</li>
<li>Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and methods (e.g. MooD, CAMEO, SysML, MagicGrid)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>The FCAS Supportability Engineering team:</strong></p>
<p>A vacancy is available within the growing FCAS Supportability Engineering Team, offering the opportunity to influence both on-board PHUMS and testability design, as well as off-board PHUMS solutions. The next-generation combat air system at the heart of FCAS requires an equally advanced support solution, with an integrated PHUMS capability playing a key role in meeting customer performance and capability needs.</p>
