<p>Job Description</p><br>The experience expected from applicants, as well as additional skills and qualifications needed for this job are listed below.<br><p>Web Designer / Developer (WordPress & UX/UI)</p><p>Location: Billingham (Office-based)Salary: £30,000 – £38,000 DOE</p><p>A successful and growing B2B organisation to appoint a Web Designer / Developer to join their in-house Marketing team.</p><p>This role is ideal for a design-driven web professional with strong WordPress and UX/UI capability, who enjoys working on multiple digital touchpoints and collaborating closely with designers, developers, and senior stakeholders.</p><p>The Role</p><p>You will play a key role in the design, build, optimisation, and ongoing improvement of several high-profile digital platforms serving both B2B and B2C audiences.</p><p>Working within the Marketing function and alongside in-house developers and IT, you’ll take ownership of website UX/UI, WordPress builds, digital assets, and Design System consistency, ensuring all digital experiences are intuitive, performant, and brand-aligned.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Design and improve website UX/UI to enhance usability, engagement, and conversion</li><li>Build, manage, and maintain WordPress websites, including themes, templates, and layouts</li><li>Create wireframes, page designs, and interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma</li><li>Design and optimise digital assets including graphics, imagery, icons, and page visuals</li><li>Support marketing campaigns with landing pages, forms, and email templates</li><li>Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of a company-wide Design System</li><li>Collaborate closely with in-house developers on integrations and internal tools</li><li>Ensure best practice across SEO, accessibility (WCAG), performance, and site structure</li><li>Test websites across browsers and devices and resolve usability or UI issues</li><li>Analyse performance and user behaviour to support continuous improvement</li><li>Confidently present design concepts and UX decisions to internal stakeholders</li></ul><p>Skills</p><p>Essential</p><ul><li>Commercial experience in a marketing or design agency, delivering multiple web projects</li><li>Strong WordPress experience, including theme and content management</li><li>Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (front-end focused)</li><li>Proven UX/UI design capability with a user-first mindset</li><li>Experienced with Figma and Adobe Creative Suite</li><li>Working knowledge of SEO, analytics, accessibility, and performance optimisation</li><li>Confident communicator able to engage non-technical and senior stakeholders</li><li>Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills</li></ul><p>Desirable</p><ul><li>Experience in B2B, manufacturing, construction, or trade-focused environments</li><li>Experience supporting internal tools, configurators, or quoting platforms</li><li>Familiarity with email marketing platforms and campaign delivery</li><li>Experience contributing to or owning a Design System</li></ul><p>The Environment</p><p>This is a design-led role with technical depth, where you’ll work alongside developers who manage complex backend development.
