Residential Support Worker Waking Nights (Part-Time, Permanent)<br><br>Have you got what it takes to succeed The following information should be read carefully by all candidates.<br>30 hours per week | TuesdayThursday | 21:3007:30<br>Location: Hove, BN3<br>We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist residential childcare provider for a Waking Night Residential Support Worker to join their dedicated team. This is a permanent, part-time opportunity working three nights per week, supporting vulnerable children and young people in a therapeutic residential setting.<br>Salary £12.85 £13.94 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience)<br>About the Role<br>As a Waking Night Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and emotional support of children throughout the night. You will remain awake and alert during your shift, maintaining a calm, secure, and nurturing environment.<br>You will be part of a therapeutic care model, supporting children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs , helping them feel safe, settled, and cared for during the night.<br>Key Responsibilities Remain awake throughout the night to ensure the safety and security of the home<br>Carry out regular checks on children in line with care plans<br>Provide emotional reassurance and support if children wake or become distressed<br>Assist with night-time routines , helping children settle and maintain healthy sleep patterns<br>Undertake domestic duties (cleaning, laundry, stock checks) to maintain a homely environment<br>Support the administration of medication where required (following training)<br>Maintain accurate and timely records and reports using digital systems<br>Conduct health and safety and security checks across the property<br>Work collaboratively with the wider team, contributing to handover reports and care planning<br>About You We are looking for individuals who are:<br>Compassionate, resilient, and emotionally intelligent<br>Able to work independently during night shifts<br>Confident supporting children with complex needs and behaviours<br>Strong communicators with good written and IT skills<br>Organised, reliable, and able to remain calm under pressure<br>Essential:<br>Awareness of residential childcare or similar care environments<br>Understanding of safeguarding and child protection<br>Ability to work waking night shifts consistently<br>Desirable:<br>Previous experience in a residential childrens home or similar setting<br>Relevant Level 3 qualification in childcare (or willingness to work towards)<br>Whats on Offer Permanent part-time contract (30 hours per week)<br>Structured rota: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday nights (21:3007:30)<br>Competitive salary with progression based on experience and qualifications<br>Ongoing training and professional development<br>Opportunity to progress into a Therapeutic Carer role<br>Supportive team environment within a values-led organisation<br>Safeguarding This role is subject to enhanced DBS checks and safer recruitment processes.
