<p>Job Description</p><br>Check out the role overview below If you are confident you have got the right skills and experience, apply today.<br><p>Tenancy Support Officer (Asylum & Refugees)</p><p>Trafford | Temporary | Band 5</p><p>Our client is looking for a compassionate, motivated Tenancy Support Officer to join our team supporting asylum seekers and refugees to establish safe, stable, and independent lives within our communities.</p><p>About the Role</p><p>As a Tenancy Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable individuals and families, helping them:</p><ul><li>Maintain their tenancies</li><li>Develop independent living skills</li><li>Integrate into mainstream society</li></ul><p>You'll manage a caseload of asylum seekers and refugees, delivering holistic, person-centred support and working closely with partners including the Home Office, housing providers, and community organisations.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Provide tenancy-related and practical support to asylum seekers and refugees in their own homes</li><li>Complete support assessments, develop holistic support plans, and carry out regular reviews</li><li>Support individuals and families with housing, benefits, health, employment, and English language access</li><li>Facilitate transitions from supported accommodation into independent living</li><li>Work collaboratively with internal teams, external partners, and key stakeholders</li><li>Promote customer engagement, community involvement, and tenancy sustainment</li><li>Coach and empower clients to manage life skills such as rent, budgeting, health, and wellbeing</li><li>Contribute to homelessness prevention and wider council objectives</li></ul><p>About You</p><p>We're looking for someone who is empathetic, resilient, and passionate about supporting vulnerable communities.</p><p>You'll have:</p><ul><li>A recognised Level 4 qualification or equivalent experience (plus around 2 years in a similar role)</li><li>Experience delivering homelessness prevention, resettlement, or housing-related support</li><li>Experience working with vulnerable customers, including those with complex needs</li><li>Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation and safeguarding frameworks</li><li>Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills</li><li>The ability to work under pressure, manage a caseload, and prioritise effectively</li><li>Confidence working with partner agencies and multi-disciplinary teams</li></ul><p>Essential:</p><ul><li>Access to a car or the ability to travel across Trafford and Greater Manchester using public transport</li></ul><p>Why Work With Us?</p><ul><li>A strong focus on health, wellbeing, and work-life balance</li><li>Access to learning, development, and progression opportunities</li><li>The chance to make a genuine difference to people's lives every day</li><li>A supportive, values-led working environment</li></ul><p>Interested?
