<p><strong>Microsoft SQL DBA Role – £60K Permanent</strong></p><p><br><br>Find out exactly what skills, experience, and qualifications you will need to succeed in this role before applying below.<br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Administer, monitor, and optimize <strong>Microsoft SQL Server</strong> environments (2016/2019/2022)</li><li>Design, deploy, and manage SQL workloads on <strong>Microsoft Azure</strong></li><li>Manage and support <strong>virtualized environments using Hyper-V</strong></li><li>Implement and maintain <strong>backup and recovery solutions using Veeam</strong></li><li>Perform <strong>capacity planning, performance tuning, and query optimization</strong></li><li>Manage <strong>HA/DR solutions</strong> (Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Azure SQL MI)</li><li>Ensure <strong>security, compliance, and access controls</strong></li><li>Automate DBA and infrastructure tasks using <strong>PowerShell and T-SQL</strong></li><li>Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams</li><li>Support <strong>on-prem to Azure migrations</strong> and hybrid cloud architectures</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong> Required Skills & Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Strong hands-on experience as a <strong>Microsoft SQL Server DBA</strong></li><li>Solid <strong>infrastructure background</strong>, including:</li><li>Windows Server administration</li><li><strong>Hyper-V virtualization</strong></li><li>Networking and storage concepts</li><li>Proven experience with <strong>Azure Cloud</strong>, including:</li><li>Azure SQL (IaaS & PaaS)</li><li>Azure Virtual Machines</li><li>Azure Storage, Backup, and Monitoring</li><li>Experience with <strong>Veeam xwzovoh Backup & Replication</strong></li><li>Expertise in <strong>performance tuning, indexing, and troubleshooting</strong></li><li>Strong scripting skills (<strong>PowerShell, T-SQL</strong>)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong> Nice to Have</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with <strong>Azure DevOps / CI-CD pipelines</strong></li><li>Infrastructure as Code (<strong>ARM, Bicep, Terraform</strong>)</li><li>SQL Server, Azure, or Veeam certifications</li><li>Experience supporting <strong>hybrid environments</strong></li></ul>
