<p><strong>Sports Instructor / Coach – Senior Girls’ School</strong><br><br>Scroll down to find an indepth overview of this job, and what is expected of candidates Make an application by clicking on the Apply button.<br> <strong>Location:</strong> Maidenhead, SL6 6AW<br> <strong>Salary:</strong> Competitive, dependent on experience<br> <strong>Start Date:</strong> September 2026</p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Sports Instructor to join a thriving Girls’ School PE department, primarily based within the Senior Girls’ School.</p><p>This is a term-time role working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week between 8:00am and 6:00pm (hours may vary depending on fixtures).</p><p>You will support the delivery of PE lessons and take an active role in planning and leading extra-curricular sports clubs. Working closely with the PE team, you will coach students, help organise fixtures, and contribute to the wider sporting life of the school.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul> <li>Support and assist with the delivery of PE and Games lessons</li><li>Plan and coach extra-curricular sports clubs before, during and after school</li><li>Coach core sports such as Netball, Hockey, Athletics and/or Swimming</li><li>Assist with the organisation of home and away fixtures</li><li>Take responsibility for allocated teams and support match preparation</li><li>Develop links with local schools and sports clubs</li><li>Liaise with grounds staff regarding the upkeep of sports facilities</li><li>Support inter-house competitions, sports events and displays</li><li>Monitor and report on student progress and participation</li><li>Assist with maintaining PE equipment, including ordering and stock checks</li><li>Support administrative tasks including booking facilities and transport</li><li>Promote sporting success through school communications and social media</li></ul> <p><strong>Person Specification</strong></p><ul> <li>Passionate about Sport and Physical Education, with a desire to inspire students</li><li>A sports-related degree or relevant coaching qualifications (desirable)</li><li>Experience in a coaching or school-based role</li><li>Strong organisational and communication skills</li><li>Ability to motivate and build confidence in students</li><li>A team player with a proactive and flexible approach</li><li>Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children</li></ul> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><ul> <li>A varied and hands-on role within a supportive PE department</li><li>Opportunities to be involved in all aspects of school sport</li><li>Professional development and training opportunities</li><li>Term-time working with structured hours</li><li>A collaborative and friendly working environment</li><li>The opportunity to make a real impact on students’ development</li></ul> <p><strong>Why Apply?</strong></p><p>Join a vibrant and supportive PE team, gain valuable school-based experience, and play a key role in developing students’ confidence, teamwork and passion for sport.</p><p><strong>Safeguarding</strong></p><p>The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
