Senior Support Worker - Homelessness Services<br><br>Are you the right applicant for this opportunity Find out by reading through the role overview below.<br>Oxford<br>£29,350 per year<br>37.5 hours per week | Permanent<br>Shift Pattern (4-Week Rota)<br>Week 1: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm<br>Week 2: Monday - Friday, 12:00pm - 8:00pm<br>Week 3: Monday - Wednesday 9:00am - 5:00pm | Saturday & Sunday 8:00am - 8:00pm<br>Week 4: Wednesday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm<br>About the Role<br>A respected homelessness support provider across Oxfordshire is seeking a Senior Support Worker to join their dedicated team supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and complex health needs.<br>This role forms part of a specialist Step-Up and Step-Down accommodation service , supporting individuals leaving hospital under the Discharge to Assess model , as well as people who may otherwise be at risk of hospital admission and require short-term accommodation and support.<br>Working within a small, dynamic, and supportive team , you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred support, managing complex cases, and helping individuals move towards stability and independent living.<br>This is a highly rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference to people experiencing homelessness .<br>Key Responsibilities<br>Support the delivery of a safe and supportive accommodation service<br>Assess and manage risk for individuals accessing the service<br>Deliver case management for clients with complex needs<br>Work collaboratively with health services, housing providers, and community organisations<br>Develop and implement holistic support and move-on plans<br>Support residents in identifying suitable move-on options within six weeks<br>Maintain Housing Benefit claims and housing management tasks<br>Manage challenging situations while ensuring the safety of residents and staff<br>Maintain accurate records and update internal systems<br>Report safeguarding concerns promptly in line with procedures<br>Build positive relationships with residents, professionals, and local services<br>Work as part of a rota including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays<br>What We Are Looking For<br>Essential<br>Understanding of the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness<br>Experience working in a frontline, face-to-face support role<br>Experience supporting individuals with complex needs , including:<br>Mental health<br>Physical health needs<br>Substance misuse<br>Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches<br>Strong communication and relationship-building skills<br>Ability to manage challenging situations<br>Good IT skills including Microsoft Office<br>Strong organisational and case management skills<br>Desirable<br>Experience in supported housing, hostels, or homelessness services<br>Understanding of move-on pathways and housing options<br>Personal Qualities<br>We are looking for someone who is:<br>Compassionate and empathetic<br>Passionate about supporting vulnerable people<br>Resilient and able to manage emotionally demanding situations<br>A proactive team player<br>Organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively<br>Safeguarding & Equality<br>The organisation is fully committed to safeguarding vulnerable adults, children, and young people , and expects all staff to share this commitment. xwzovoh <br>They are also committed to equal opportunities , welcoming applications from all backgrounds and communities.<br>If you are passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness and want to make a real impact, we would love to hear from you.<br>#OxSW
