Our client, a leading organisation in power and energy solutions, is seeking a talented Senior Substation Secondary (P&C) Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile projects, supporting clients like National Grid and SSEN across the UK and internationally.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What you'll be doing:</strong></p><p>• Lead technical delivery of protection and control (P&C) design packages for substation projects, from Front End Engineering Design (FEED) to Detailed Design.</p><p>• Provide technical guidance on protection schemes, relay settings, coordination, and substation automation.</p><p>• Ensure quality assurance and governance of all design outputs, including SLDs, wiring diagrams, I/O schedules, and control room layouts.</p><p>• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, suppliers, and contractors, building strong relationships and understanding client needs.</p><p>• Manage tender packages, respond to technical queries, and produce high-quality technical offers.</p><p>• Attend and chair design and hazard review meetings, site visits, and support project delivery across transmission and distribution networks.</p><p>• Support capability development and training within your team, fostering a collaborative environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What you'll bring:</strong></p><p>• Solid understanding of electrical engineering, power systems, and energy markets.</p><p>• Proven experience in substation secondary design, protection schemes, and automation.</p><p>• Strong communication and teamworking skills, with a client-focused approach.</p><p>• Ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate with diverse teams, and deliver high-quality outputs.</p><p>• Experience in managing tender responses and technical offers.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Required skills and qualifications:</strong></p><p>• Knowledge of protection schemes, relay configurations, and substation automation.</p><p>• Experience with SLDs, wiring diagrams, and interface drawings.</p><p>• Ability to lead technical reviews and attend site visits.</p><p>• Capable of working across multiple locations including Glasgow, Leeds, Birmingham, or Epsom. xwzovoh </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Join a supportive, flexible environment</strong> where your expertise can shape a sustainable future.
