Senior Project Manager – Technical Communications (Antennas) (107jc) – Leominster – Circa £63k + Benefits<br><br>Ensure all your application information is up to date and in order before applying for this opportunity.<br>An established UK engineering organisation specialising in advanced communications systems and antenna technology is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex, high-value technical programmes.<br>DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.<br>This role would suit individuals from a military, defence, or engineering background, particularly those with experience in communications systems, signals, ISR, or equipment delivery, who are looking to transition into a senior leadership position in industry.<br>You will take ownership of multiple concurrent projects, ensuring delivery against time, cost, and performance, while operating within a structured and compliance-driven environment.<br>In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of technical projects, leading multidisciplinary teams and engaging directly with customers.<br>And therefore, your typical responsibilities include:<br>- Delivering multiple complex engineering projects simultaneously<br>- Leading structured project governance (risk, reporting, assurance, change control)<br>- Managing detailed project plans including timelines, resources, and risk registers<br>- Taking ownership of project budgets and financial performance<br>- Leading internal teams across engineering, production, and support functions<br>- Managing external suppliers and ensuring delivery standards are met<br>- Acting as the primary interface with customers and key stakeholders<br>- Controlling scope, commercial delivery, and contract milestones<br>- Supporting invoicing aligned to project progress<br>- Identifying and escalating risks in a timely and structured manner<br>- Ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulated processes<br>- Driving continuous improvement and capturing lessons learned<br>The ideal candidate Profile will include:<br>Essential Experience<br>- Formal Project Management qualification (e.g. APM PMQ or equivalent)<br>- Proven experience delivering multiple complex projects in parallel<br>- Strong financial and commercial management of projects<br>- Experience leading cross-functional teams<br>- Stakeholder and customer engagement at senior levels<br>- Supplier and contractor management<br>- Background in a technical, engineering, or communications environment<br>- Strong planning capability (e.g. MS Project or equivalent tools)<br>Desirable<br>- Experience within defence, MOD, or military environments<br>- Background in RF systems, communications equipment, or antenna technology<br>- Experience working in structured, compliance-driven organisations<br>- Advanced project qualifications (e.g. PPQ, ChPP)<br>What This Role Suits Veterans<br>This position is well aligned to individuals who have operated in roles such as:<br>- Project / Programme Manager (MOD / Defence projects)<br>- Signals Officer / Communications Specialist<br>- Engineering Officer (REME, Royal Engineers, RAF, Navy)<br>- Equipment Capability / Delivery roles<br>- Operations Officer with responsibility for planning and delivery<br>Key transferable experience includes:<br>- Leading teams in high-pressure environments<br>- Managing complex equipment or capability delivery<br>- Operating within strict governance and compliance frameworks<br>- Budget responsibility and resource allocation<br>- Stakeholder management across multiple levels<br>What You will need to bring:<br>- Strong leadership and decision-making ability<br>- A structured, organised approach to delivery<br>- Commercial awareness and financial control<br>- Confidence operating in customer-facing environments<br>- Ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure settings<br>- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset<br>You will also need to fully demonstrate the following:<br>- Scale and complexity of projects delivered<br>- Budget and financial responsibility<br>- Stakeholder and supplier management experience<br>In return they are offering an excellent starting salary circa £63k, as well as additional benefits including 26 days + Bank Holiday, Pension, with employer contribution, Employee share scheme (after 12 months), with a host of other benefits. xwzovoh There is also the possibility of hybrid working once you fully understand the role and company.<br>For more information, please contact Jean-Claude Hedouin, at Ex-Mil Recruitment Ltd on (phone number removed)
