<p><strong>Job Purpose</strong></p><p>Reporting to the Powertrain Test Facility – Team Leader, as a proven professional you will be required to deliver powertrain testing within a state-of-the–art Powertrain Test Centre. </p><p><br><br>Maximise your chances of a successful application to this job by ensuring your CV and skills are a good match.<br></p><p><strong>Person Specification</strong></p><ul><li>Degree in Mechanical, Electronics Engineering or an equivalent education.</li><li>At least 5 years’ experience in an engineering test facility environment</li><li>Background in automotive and powertrain test and development environment.</li><li>Experience of working in a test facilities environment, engine, powertrain & vehicle test cells.</li><li>Experience of working with and knowledge of both mechanical and electrical automotive systems.</li><li>Knowledge of calibration of measurement equipment to UKAS standards. </li><li>Experience in engine performance, economy & emissions.</li><li>Knowledge of emissions measurement equipment: e.g. Horiba Mexa & AVL APC equipment. </li><li>Expert knowledge of instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition equipment. </li><li>Experience of health and safety process management.</li><li>Knowledge of AVL and Sierra CP test hardware and software including Sierra CP Cadet, AVL Puma, Concerto & Indicom, ETAS INCA </li><li>Experience of managing projects, planning, executing, and undertaking responsibility for project activities (preferred).</li><li>Experience working with automotive HV hybrid powertrains systems and components (desired).</li><li>Ability to work in a team environment with respect to timing. </li><li>Strong communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to write and present high-quality reports to a varied audience. </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Main Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Day to day running of the test facility including repair and regular maintenance tasks</li><li>Calibration and maintenance of test equipment</li><li>Organising site maintenance tasks</li><li>Contracts and contractor organisation</li><li>Technical support of test requirements and testing</li><li>Project management of both facility development projects and testing projects</li><li>Development of road map for Powertrain Test Centre facility upgrade to support automotive business transformation. xwzovoh Including Powertrain, Vehicle dynamics, Electric drive systems and Intelligent software</li><li>Commissioning of new facilities & infrastructure within the Test Centre.</li><li>Support vehicle testing activities</li><li>Support sales company engineering activities</li><li>Preventative maintenance and calibration of test cell and associated equipment</li><li>Grow & develop skills and knowledge in the area of automotive testing methodology as needed based on new requirements, either testing methods or new technologies</li><li>Work with the Department Manager in the preparation of budgets associated with the test cells</li><li>Provide in house training to other staff in areas of expertise</li><li>Support CAUK cross-department capability initiatives if required</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Package</strong></p><p>· Competitive salary package, negotiable dependant on experience / qualifications</p>
