Our central London office provides an exciting and dynamic work environment.</p><p>To expand the current team operating in the UK, ESA Engineering is seeking an engineer to support mechanical and technical design activities.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead the mechanical and plumbing design process across multiple project stages from RIBA 2 through RIBA 5</li><li>Guide the technical growth and implementation of UK standards and best practices within the Group for mechanical and plumbing systems</li><li>Expert design of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, with a focus on low‑carbon solutions and thermal comfort for complex buildings</li><li>Comprehensive design of domestic water services, above-ground drainage, and sanitation systems in compliance with BS 8558 and Part G</li><li>Support site inspections, commissioning activities, and technical queries during the construction phase</li><li>Oversee and review the implementation of mechanical and plumbing designs carried out by other branches of the Group</li><li>Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide innovative solutions</li><li>Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments</li><li>Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies</li><li>Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations</li><li>Review and approve technical documentation</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>Advanced knowledge of dynamic thermal simulations, energy modelling, and Part L compliance checks using SBEM/DSM methodologies</li><li>In-depth knowledge of UK Building Regulations (Part L, F, G, J) and CIBSE Guides (A, B, C, L)</li><li>Mastery of Autodesk Revit MEP for 3D modelling and multidisciplinary coordination with architects and structural engineers</li><li>Practical application of BREEAM and Net Zero Carbon frameworks within mechanical and plumbing services</li><li>Proven experience in producing NBS specifications, detailed schedules, technical reports, and cost estimates</li><li>8+ years of experience in an integrated engineering consultancy or specialist mechanical/building services firm</li><li>Strong communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team</li><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (BEng/MEng) in Mechanical Engineering or a related building services discipline</li><li>Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is required; CIBSE or IMechE certifications are good aswell.</li><li>Professional working proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Italian is considered a valuable plus for seamless coordination with the Global HQ in Italy.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Software Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Autodesk Revit MEP for coordinated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design</li><li>AutoCAD for 2D drafting and layout coordination</li><li>IES Virtual Environment (IES-VE)</li><li>BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud</li><li>Energy compliance tools (optional but advantageous), such as iSBEM, SAP‑compliant tools, or similar</li></ul><p><br></p><p>The practice invests in its employees, offering a competitive base salary and a comprehensive range of benefits designed to support both career development and well-being:</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Competitive level salary aligned with industry benchmarks.</li><li>A comprehensive programme of continued professional development</li><li>Annual leave starting at 25 days plus bank holidays</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Please Note: You must be living in and eligible to work in the UK to apply for this position.</p><p><br></p><p>All personal information provided will be treated confidentially and used solely for the purpose of evaluating your application for this position. xwzovoh </p><p><br></p><p>Candidates are invited to read the privacy information pursuant to art. 13 of EU Reg. 679/2016 on data protection (GDPR), available in the privacy section of our website.</p>
