Job description
<p>A building services design team is seeking a <strong>Senior Mechanical Engineer</strong> to join their London office. Ideal candidates will have strong experience in mechanical building services design and be Chartered or working towards Chartership.</p><p><br><br>Ensure you read the information regarding this opportunity thoroughly before making an application.<br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Contribute to mechanical design strategy and carry out design calculations.</li><li>Produce drawings, schematics, specifications, and schedules.</li><li>Ensure designs meet relevant standards, regulations, and energy‑efficiency requirements.</li><li>Lead M&E project delivery, including coordination and attending meetings.</li><li>Review work of junior engineers and support their development.</li><li>Build strong relationships with clients and design teams.</li><li>Provide multidisciplinary input and support sustainability goals.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Skills & Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and building systems.</li><li>Good communication, organisation, and teamwork skills.</li><li>Ability to explain design decisions clearly.</li><li>Experience with software such as Hevacomp/IES, Barbour Index, Microsoft Office.</li><li>Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical/Building Services/Architectural Engineering.</li><li>Project management experience in a similar role.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p><ul><li>CAD or modelling software experience (e.g., AutoCAD, IES).</li><li>Knowledge of low‑carbon design, renewable technologies, BREEAM, or similar.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Personal Qualities</strong></p><ul><li>Analytical, methodical, detail‑focused.</li><li>Proactive, collaborative, and able to take initiative. xwzovoh </li><li>Interest in sustainability, new technologies, or building design.</li></ul>
