DOE</strong></p><p><br></p><p>We are supporting a fast-growing clean technology engineering business developing next-generation high-power DC charging infrastructure for commercial electric vehicles.</p><p><br></p><p>Backed by significant industry investment and involved in large-scale electrification programmes, the business is scaling rapidly and is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to help drive the development of megawatt-scale EV charging systems from concept through to production.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys working in a scale-up environment, taking ownership of complex hardware development projects, and mentoring junior engineers while contributing to cutting-edge electrification technology.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>You will play a key role in the development of in-house high-power DC charging hardware, working across the full product lifecycle including concept generation, detailed design, validation, manufacturing support, and deployment.</p><p><br></p><p>The role sits at the intersection of mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering and will involve close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust, production-ready infrastructure products.</p><p><br></p><p>This opportunity would suit someone with experience developing complex electromechanical hardware products, ideally within EV charging, power electronics, energy infrastructure, or related sectors.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Product Development & Delivery</p><ul><li>Lead mechanical design activities across the full product lifecycle</li><li>Develop solutions optimised for manufacture, assembly, cost, and reliability</li><li>Produce accurate 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings</li><li>Lead design reviews, DFMEA activities, and validation planning</li><li>Drive continuous product improvement initiatives for robustness and cost reduction</li><li>Work closely with project and engineering teams to deliver against programme timelines</li></ul><p>System Integration & Technical Support</p><ul><li>Collaborate with electrical, embedded software, manufacturing, and infrastructure teams</li><li>Support prototype builds, integration activities, and product deployment</li><li>Troubleshoot technical issues using structured problem-solving methodologies</li><li>Support supplier engagement, component selection, and qualification activities</li></ul><p>Validation, Compliance & Quality</p><ul><li>Define and execute validation and verification plans</li><li>Support environmental, thermal, and functional testing activities</li><li>Contribute to product compliance and technical documentation</li><li>Ensure designs align with applicable industry standards and regulations</li></ul><p>Process & Team Development</p><ul><li>Help establish and improve engineering processes, standards, and documentation</li><li>Contribute to engineering best practices and product roadmap planning</li><li>Mentor and support junior engineers within the team</li><li>Operate effectively within a fast-paced scale-up environment with evolving priorities</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Experience & Skills Required</strong></p><p>Essential</p><ul><li>Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline</li><li>Extensive experience in hardware/product development environments</li><li>Strong background designing electromechanical systems or infrastructure hardware</li><li>Advanced Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD 2D experience</li><li>Experience integrating third-party electrical xwzovoh components and sub-systems</li><li>Ability to lead development workstreams independently</li><li>Strong understanding of DFM, DFA, and engineering validation processes</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills</li></ul><p>Highly Desirable</p><ul><li>Experience developing high-power DC EV charging infrastructure</li><li>Experience with charging hardware OEMs, startups, or scale-up environments</li><li>Knowledge of panel enclosure design</li><li>Familiarity with EV charging standards including IEC61851 and IEC61439</li><li>Understanding of EMC compliance and electrical regulations</li><li>Experience conducting FEA and thermal analysis</li><li>Experience supporting utility providers or electrical infrastructure integration</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Package &
