DOE</strong></p><p><br></p><p>We are supporting a fast-growing clean technology engineering business developing next-generation high-power EV charging systems for commercial electric vehicle infrastructure.</p><p><br></p><p>Backed by significant industry investment and involved in large-scale electrification programmes, the business is scaling rapidly and is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to support the development of advanced DC charging hardware from concept through to production.</p><p><br></p><p>This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced 3D CAD Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong automotive, EV, electromechanical or product development background who enjoys working on complex hardware integration challenges within a fast-paced engineering environment.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>You will play a key role in the mechanical development of high-power EV charging units, working across enclosure design, component integration, packaging, busbar layouts, thermal considerations and full system mechanical architecture.</p><p><br></p><p>Working closely with electrical, power electronics and manufacturing teams, you will help deliver robust, production-ready charging hardware suitable for large-scale deployment.</p><p><br></p><p>This role would suit someone with experience designing complex electromechanical products, vehicle systems, battery systems, charging hardware, power electronics packaging or related EV technologies.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Product Design & Mechanical Development</p><p> • Develop 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for EV charging hardware and assemblies</p><p> • Design and integrate enclosures, housings, structural assemblies and internal packaging layouts</p><p> • Support integration of electrical components including busbars, cabling, cooling systems, connectors and power electronics</p><p> • Design solutions optimised for manufacture, assembly, serviceability and cost</p><p> • Support concept development through to detailed design and engineering release</p><p> • Participate in design reviews, problem-solving and product improvement activities</p><p>System Integration & Engineering Support</p><p> • Work closely with electrical, systems and manufacturing teams to support full hardware integration</p><p> • Support prototype builds, testing and validation activities</p><p> • Resolve packaging, tolerance and integration issues across assemblies</p><p> • Support supplier engagement, component selection and engineering changes</p><p> • Assist with installation and deployment-related engineering activities where required</p><p>Validation, Quality & Manufacturing</p><p> • Support DFMEA, DFM and DFA activities</p><p> • Produce manufacturing-ready drawings and documentation</p><p> • Support testing, validation and continuous product improvement</p><p> • Ensure designs meet quality, safety and regulatory requirements</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Experience & Skills Required</strong></p><p>Essential</p><p> • Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline</p><p> • Strong 3D CAD design experience within automotive, EV, product development or electromechanical engineering environments</p><p> • Experience designing complex mechanical assemblies and integrated hardware products</p><p> • Experience with packaging and integration of electrical or electronic components</p><p> • Understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerance xwzovoh management and design-for-manufacture principles</p><p> • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills</p><p> • Ability to work independently within a fast-paced engineering environment</p><p>Highly Desirable</p><p> • EV charging, battery systems or power electronics experience</p><p> • Experience designing housings, enclosures or structural packaging solutions</p><p> • Busbar integration or high-voltage component packaging experience</p><p> • Experience within automotive, motorsport, EV or clean-tech sectors</p><p> • Experience supporting prototype or low-volume production programmes</p><p> • Understanding of thermal management or cooling integration</p><p> • Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD experience</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Package & Working
