This is a senior role within a long-standing, family-owned engineering business, offering the chance to lead product design from concept through to production.<br><br>You'll be involved in both new product development and the improvement of existing products, working closely with manufacturing, sales and fellow engineers in a small, experienced team.<br><br>Key responsibilities<br><br>Lead electronic product design from concept to production<br>Produce schematics, PCB layouts, prototypes, testing and validation<br>Improve and maintain existing product designs<br>Support component selection, obsolescence and design updates<br>Develop and maintain test equipment<br>Produce engineering documentation and manuals<br>Provide technical support to manufacturing and sales<br>Contribute to design reviews and continuous improvement<br>Skills and experience<br><br>Degree, HNC/HND in Electronics or similar, or equivalent experience<br>Strong experience in analogue and digital circuit design<br>Strong PCB layout experience<br>Experience with electromechanical systems, sensors or instrumentation<br>Embedded firmware experience, mainly C on Microchip PIC<br>Able to work independently and take technical ownership<br>Practical, hands-on problem solver<br>Desirable<br><br>Hazardous area, ATEX, IECEx or safety-critical xwzovoh product experience<br>Experience supporting manufacturing and certification<br>Experience developing production or test equipment<br>Why apply?<br><br>Senior role with real responsibility and influence<br>Work on specialist, safety-critical products<br>Established and stable engineering business<br>Supportive, experienced and collaborative team<br>Apply now if you're looking for a senior electronics role where you can take ownership, solve real engineering problems, and make a genuine impact
