Senior Frontend Developer

<p>One of my client is looking for a Senior frontend developer role able to join their offices in<strong> London or Newcastle (UK). </strong></p><p><br><br>Qualifications, skills, and all relevant experience needed for this role can be found in the full description below.<br></p><p>They build world class apps, middleware and digital products in the global lottery, betting, and</p><p>gaming space.</p><p><br></p><p>Important:</p><p><strong>The role is hybrid, 1 day per week at the office is mandatory.</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Main Responsibilities:</p><p>- Design, build, and maintain high-quality applications across web, mobile, and backend environments depending on project needs.</p><p>- Take ownership of technical design and delivery for medium to high complexity features and systems.</p><p>- Translate complex requirements into scalable, maintainable solutions.</p><p>- Act as a subject matter expert in a primary discipline while contributing across other parts of the stack when needed.</p><p>- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, QA, and design.</p><p>- Drive improvements in engineering standards, tools, and processes.</p><p>- Identify and reduce technical debt while supporting system modernisation efforts.</p><p>- Ensure strong performance, scalability, security, and reliability across platforms.</p><p>- Lead or contribute to technical initiatives spanning multiple systems.</p><p>- Mentor team members and support knowledge sharing and hiring activities.</p><p>- Implement testing, monitoring, and observability best practices.</p><p>- Contribute to secure development practices and compliance requirements where applicable.</p><p><br></p><p>Desired experience:</p><p>- Proven experience in a senior engineering role with ownership of complex systems.</p><p>- Strong expertise in front-end technologies (JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks) or another core area such as React</p><p>- Ability to work beyond a single specialization (T-shaped skillset) — preferred but not strictly mandatory.</p><p>- Experience integrating front-end applications with APIs and backend services.</p><p>- Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud environments (AWS preferred).</p><p>- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern delivery practices.</p><p>- Experience with performance optimisation, debugging, and observability tools.</p><p>- Exposure to legacy systems and modernisation projects is advantageous.</p><p>- Knowledge of secure coding practices and common security standards. xwzovoh </p><p>- Experience mentoring engineers or influencing technical decisions is beneficial but not mandatory.</p>
