This role is designed for an engineer who thrives on technical variety and wants to play a key part in turning "impossible" concepts into real-world, high-integrity platforms.</p><p><strong>The Role</strong></p><p>Working within a multidisciplinary team of hardware, RF, and FPGA experts, you will architect and develop embedded software for a diverse range of projects. You will be a hands-on technical engineer, moving through the full development lifecycle—from rapid prototyping and "proof of concept" studies to full-scale, safety-critical production systems.</p><p><strong>Your Technical Profile</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Language Expertise:</strong> Strong proficiency in <strong>C and/or C++</strong> for embedded systems.</li><li><strong>Platform Experience:</strong> Extensive experience developing for embedded platforms (<strong>ARM, STM32, or similar Microcontrollers</strong>).</li><li><strong>OS Knowledge:</strong> Solid understanding of <strong>Embedded Linux</strong> (Yocto/PetaLinux).</li><li><strong>Systems Architecture:</strong> Ability to design scalable, robust software using UML and rigorous engineering practices.</li><li><strong>Interfacing:</strong> Comfortable working close to the metal, including interfacing with on-board FPGAs and communication protocols (<strong>SPI, I2C, UART, CAN</strong>).</li></ul><p><strong>The "Value Add"</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with <strong>Python</strong> or <strong>MATLAB</strong> for algorithm development and testing.</li><li>Familiarity with <strong>Low-SWaP</strong> (Size, Weight, and Power) design constraints—crucial for drone and space applications.</li><li>A background in <strong>Signal Processing</strong> or <strong>Robotics</strong> (ROS/ROS2).</li><li>The ability to mentor junior engineers and act as a "Design Authority" for software workstreams.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>The Rewards</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Salary:</strong> £60,000 – £70,000 (dependent on experience). xwzovoh </li><li><strong>Benefits:</strong> Matched pension, private medical insurance, flexible working options, and a dedicated training budget for your professional development.</li></ul><p><strong>If you are a motivated engineer who thrives on variety and exciting technical challenges, apply today with your CV.</strong></p>
