CISHA</strong></p> <p>We are a small, dedicated, independent, non-profit team working to support and engage with those whose lives are impacted by living or working near Heathrow Airport.</p> <p>Our community engagement board provides a structured mechanism through which the views, concerns, and priorities of local communities and stakeholders can be identified, tested, and reflected during the planning, consenting, and delivery of a third runway, enabling them to meaningfully contribute to the process.</p> <p>In particular, we would welcome applications from candidates representative of the diverse communities we serve.</p> <p><strong>About the role</strong></p> <p>CISHA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to provide secretariat support to our Heathrow Expansion Independent Community Engagement Board (HEICEB).</p> <p>The successful candidate should possess exceptionally strong secretariat and organisational abilities, with demonstrable experience in providing comprehensive and high-quality administrative support at a senior level.</p> <p>They will be a self-starter familiar with working remotely, capable of managing multiple priorities independently while working collaboratively within a small, committed team.</p> <p>This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping to shape how communities, experts, and decision-makers engage on one of the UK’s most high-profile infrastructure projects.</p> <p><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>Secretariat and coordination:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide full secretariat support to the HEICEB, including meeting organisation, report writing, and minute-taking.</li> <li>Work with the Director and Chair to ensure effective monitoring and tracking of its workstreams and actions, maintaining and managing a log of recommendations made to the airport.</li> <li>Liaise with board members, external experts, scheme promoters, the airport, and other stakeholders, promoting effective communication and timely delivery of outputs.</li> <li>Maintain accurate records, manage email correspondence, and ensure the smooth administrative operation of the HEICEB’s activities.</li> <li>Analyse and synthesise complex information into clear briefings, summaries, and action points for a range of audiences.</li> <li>Keep the Heathrow Expansion Watch website up to date, ensuring content remains current and accurate.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Stakeholder engagement and collaboration:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work closely with the team’s Project Manager to keep informed about the priorities of communities and stakeholders.</li> <li>Support the organisation’s wider engagement activities, including assistance with and attendance at events, and CISHA and team meetings as required.</li> <li>Contribute to other collaborative projects across the team as necessary.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Organisational contribution:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manage your own administrative workload and that of the HEICEB efficiently, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.</li> <li>Uphold CISHA’s commitment to transparency, inclusivity, and independence in all activities.</li> <li>With the Director, contribute to CISHA’s strategic development, identifying potential areas for research or additional expert input, and enhancing its external communications.</li> <li>Work flexibly and collaboratively within a small, supportive team environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential criteria:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Proven <strong>experience in a secretariat role</strong> within a public, not-for-profit, or consultancy environment.</li> <li>Experience supporting senior stakeholders in <strong>complex, high-profile</strong> or <strong>politically sensitive</strong> programmes.</li> <li>Demonstrable experience in providing <strong>secretariat support to expert groups, boards, or committees</strong>.</li> <li><strong>Exceptional written and editing skills</strong>, with strong attention to detail.</li> <li><strong>Highly organised, proactive, self-starter,</strong> able to manage competing priorities independently.</li> <li><strong>Strong interpersonal skills</strong> and ability to build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.</li> <li>Commitment to<strong> independence, transparency, and constructive and impactful community engagement</strong>.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable skills:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Background in infrastructure development, regulation, or planning policy.</li> <li>Familiarity with the dynamics of community engagement and stakeholder consultation.</li> <li>The ability to produce clear and accurate outputs for a range of audiences, and experience in website content creation.
