<p>Job Description</p><br>Please make an application promptly if you are a good match for this role due to high levels of interest.<br><p>School Receptionist - SEND Secondary School</p><p>Location: Redhill area, SurreyContract Type: Permanent, Term Time OnlyActual Salary: £24,139.67 - £24,818.65 (dependent on qualifications and experience) + £1,000 welcome bonusHourly Rate: £13.51 - £13.89 per hourHours: 40 hours per week, Term Time Only</p><p>About the School</p><p>We are delighted to be supporting a SEND Secondary School in the Redhill area, catering for young people aged 11-16 who require support with social communication, emotional regulation, and sensory processing needs, typically associated with Autism.</p><p>The school offers a personalised, engaging curriculum aligned with the national curriculum, delivered in small classes with high levels of support and a multi-disciplinary intervention team to ensure every student has every opportunity to achieve.</p><p>The Role</p><p>The school are seeking a confident, organised, and personable Receptionist to be the welcoming face of the school. You will be responsible for managing the reception area, handling telephone enquiries, supporting visitors, and providing day-to-day administrative support to the wider school team.</p><p>You will primarily be based at the school’s main site, with occasional work at a nearby satellite site when required.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Act as the first point of contact for all visitors, ensuring safeguarding checks (ID verification, signing in/out) are always followed.</li><li>Manage reception and front desk operations throughout the school day.</li><li>Answer and direct telephone calls, identifying requirements and responding appropriately.</li><li>Welcome and support visitors, contractors, and stakeholders.</li><li>Manage gate control and monitor visitor access.</li><li>Receive, log, and pass on messages in a timely, professional manner.</li><li>Handle incoming and outgoing post.</li><li>Prepare documents, reports, presentations, letters, and general correspondence.</li><li>Maintain accurate filing systems and digital records.</li><li>Support the Attendance Management Information System for students.</li><li>Organise meeting rooms and support diary management.</li><li>Monitor and order office supplies where required.</li><li>Maintain the reception area to ensure it is tidy, safe, and welcoming.</li><li>Liaise with office suppliers and the maintenance team for repairs.</li><li>Assist with enquiries for the Referrals Team, including scheduling assessments.</li><li>Provide general administration support to the wider team as required.</li><li>Willingness to support the satellite location when required.</li></ul><p>About You</p><p>Skills & Experience</p><ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.</li><li>Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE English & Maths preferred).</li><li>Previous experience in an administrative or reception role (preferred).</li><li>Confident using IT systems including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases.</li><li>Professional, reliable, and highly personable.</li></ul><p>Requirements</p><ul><li>Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to apply for one</li><li>Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.</li><li>Willingness to undertake training and contribute to the organisation’s values and ethos.</li></ul><p>If you are interested, please do apply above, we would love to hear from you!</p><p>Safeguarding</p><p>We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. xwzovoh All posts require an Enhanced DBS check.</p>
