<p>Job Description</p><br>Make your application after reading the following skill and qualification requirements for this position.<br><p>Site Manager / Caretaker / Facilities Technician – Specialist SEND School</p><p>Full-Time | UNTIL MAY HALF TERM 2026 | ASAP Start</p><p>Tara Professional Recruitment are looking for a proactive and skilled Site Manager / Facilities Technician / Caretaker to join a highly respected specialist SEND school supporting pupils with Autism and complex communication needs in Haringey - as soon as possible up until May Half Term at the minimum. This is a full-time, for a Site Manager / Facilities Technician / Caretaker who can take ownership of the school’s premises, ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained environment at all times.</p><p>The successful Site Manager / Facilities Technician / Caretaker will play a vital role in supporting the daily operation of the school, maintaining a structured and secure setting that is essential for pupils with Autism.</p><p>The Role</p><p>As a Site Manager / Facilities Technician, your responsibilities will include:</p><ul><li>Managing the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of the school site, buildings, and grounds</li><li>Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to reactive repairs</li><li>Acting as a key holder, responsible for opening, closing, and site security</li><li>Conducting regular site inspections and safety checks to ensure compliance</li><li>Overseeing health & safety procedures, including fire safety systems and risk assessments</li><li>Managing and liaising with external contractors and service providers</li><li>Maintaining records of compliance checks, repairs, and maintenance logs</li><li>Supporting with site setup for school activities and events</li></ul><p>School site roles require a balance of hands-on maintenance and compliance oversight, ensuring facilities remain safe, functional, and fit for purpose at all times.</p><p>Key Responsibilities in a School Setting</p><p>The Site Manager / Facilities Technician will be responsible for:</p><ul><li>Ensuring the site is clean, safe, and well-presented daily</li><li>Carrying out minor repairs and maintenance across fixtures, fittings, and equipment</li><li>Monitoring fire alarms, emergency lighting, water hygiene, and statutory checks</li><li>Maintaining security systems, access points, and alarms</li><li>Supporting grounds maintenance and general site appearance</li><li>Coordinating maintenance schedules and prioritising repair works</li><li>Logging and managing compliance documentation and inspections</li></ul><p>These responsibilities are critical in schools, where site staff ensure both legal compliance and a safe learning environment for pupils and staff.</p><p>The School Environment</p><p>This specialist SEND school supports pupils with:</p><ul><li>Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)</li><li>Communication and sensory processing needs</li><li>Social, emotional, and behavioural differences</li></ul><p>The Site Manager / Facilities Technician will be working in a setting where predictability, safety, and low-stimulation environments are essential.
