This is an office-based role centred around handling incoming enquiries from architects, contractors, builders, and homeowners who are specifying or purchasing rooflights.</strong></p><p><strong>You will be the first point of contact for customers seeking guidance on our rooflight range. You will combine strong product knowledge with a natural ability to understand customer requirements and convert enquiries into orders — not through high-pressure selling, but through building trust, offering expert advice, and providing an outstanding experience on every call.</strong></p><p><strong>This role is equally about technical understanding and people skills. You will become a genuine expert in rooflight specification, glazing systems, and installation requirements, and use that knowledge to help customers make confident purchasing decisions.</strong></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><p><strong>Sales & Customer Enquiries</strong></p><ul><li>Handle all incoming telephone and email enquiries in a professional, helpful, and knowledgeable manner</li><li>Guide customers through product selection based on their project requirements, roof type, and budget</li><li>Prepare accurate quotations and follow up to convert enquiries into confirmed orders</li><li>Identify opportunities to upsell complementary products and accessories where genuinely beneficial to the customer</li><li>Achieve individual and team sales targets through quality of service rather than volume pressure</li><li>Maintain a strong conversion rate from enquiry to order by building rapport and customer confidence</li></ul><p><strong>Technical Support & Product Knowledge</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of the full rooflight range, including sizes, glazing specifications, U-values, and kerb types</li><li>Advise customers on correct product selection for their specific application, including building regulation compliance</li><li>Support customers with technical queries relating to installation, glazing, flashing, and associated products</li><li>Liaise with the technical team on complex or non-standard enquiries</li><li>Keep up to date with product developments, new launches, and changes to building regulations affecting rooflights</li></ul><p><strong>Order Processing & Administration</strong></p><ul><li>Process orders accurately and promptly using the company order management system</li><li>Coordinate with the production and logistics teams to confirm lead times and delivery schedules</li><li>Manage customer accounts, keeping records of interactions, quotations, and order history up to date</li><li>Handle order amendments, queries, and after-sales support professionally</li><li>Raise any product or delivery issues proactively, keeping customers informed at every stage</li></ul><p><strong>Skills & Experience</strong></p><p><strong>Essential</strong></p><ul><li>Excellent telephone manner — warm, clear, and confident with the ability to build instant rapport</li><li>Strong sales ability with a consultative, customer-first approach</li><li>High attention to detail, particularly when processing orders and preparing quotations</li><li>Ability to quickly learn and retain technical product information</li><li>Good written communication skills for handling email enquiries and quotations</li><li>Organised and self-motivated, able to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively</li><li>Competent with standard office software (email, Word, Excel, CRM systems)</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable</strong></p><ul><li>Previous experience in a technical sales, construction products, or building materials environment</li><li>Familiarity with rooflights, glazing, or flat roof construction</li><li>Experience working with architects, contractors, or specifiers</li><li>Knowledge of UK building regulations relating to daylight and thermal performance</li></ul><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p><ul><li>A varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same</li><li>Full product training and ongoing technical development</li><li>A supportive, friendly team environment</li><li>Competitive basic salary with built-in commission structure</li><li>Opportunities for progression within the business</li><li>20 days holiday, plus bank holidays</li><li>Free on-site parking</li></ul><p><strong>The Person We Are Looking For</strong></p><p><strong>You do not need to come from a roof light background — we will train you.
