<p><strong>R&D Engineer - NFC - RFID - RF - Smartcard</strong></p><br>Make sure to apply with all the requested information, as laid out in the job overview below.<br><p><strong>Location:</strong> Full-time onsite (limited WFH due to the nature of the role)</p><p><strong>Travel:</strong> Occasional travel as required</p><p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p>We are seeking an R&D Engineer to join a highly innovative team focused on the design and development of RFID-enabled smartcard and proximity-based systems. This is a hands-on, research-driven role working on products interoperable with payment terminals and aligned with evolving contactless payment technologies.</p><p>Reporting to the Director of Research & Development, you will play a key role in ensuring product designs are delivered on time and to the highest standards, meeting both internal and customer expectations.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design and develop RFID-based smartcard systems (13.56 MHz, proximity-coupled devices)</li><li>Develop circuit designs, prototypes, and iterate based on testing and performance data</li><li>Conduct performance benchmarking and validation of designs</li><li>Carry out RF and physical product testing to support development cycles</li><li>Gain and apply in-depth knowledge of relevant standards and payment scheme test requirements</li><li>Analyse and understand the operation of contactless-enabled payment cards</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and delivery</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>Essential:</p><ul><li>Degree in Electronics, Physics, or a related discipline (Masters or higher considered)</li><li>Strong understanding of core electronic principles</li><li>Experience working with RFID systems and applications</li><li>Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g. Vector Network Analysers)</li><li>Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor</li><li>Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail</li><li>Strong working knowledge of standard office software</li></ul><p>Desirable:</p><ul><li>Experience with 13.56 MHz smartcard antenna design</li><li>Previous experience in HF RFID antenna design</li><li>Academic understanding of laser technology</li><li>Practical experience operating lasers</li></ul><p><strong>Profile</strong></p><p>The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on R&D environment. xwzovoh You will have a proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong interest in developing cutting-edge contactless and RFID technologies.</p>
