<p><strong>Quantity Surveyor – Residential Development</strong></p><p><strong>York</strong></p><p><strong>Full-time | Permanent</strong></p><p><br><br>Check below to see if you have what is needed for this opportunity, and if so, make an application asap.<br></p><p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a growing residential development team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing all cost and commercial aspects of residential projects, ensuring developments are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.</p><p>This role offers exposure to a range of residential schemes, including new build housing developments, apartments, and mixed use residential projects.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Manage all aspects of cost planning, cost control, and commercial management across residential projects </li><li>Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies </li><li>Produce and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and tender documentation </li><li>Carry out procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including tender analysis and negotiation </li><li>Administer contracts (e.g. JCT forms), including variations, valuations, and final accounts </li><li>Monitor project costs against budgets and provide regular financial reporting </li><li>Conduct site visits to assess progress, valuations, and commercial risks </li><li>Manage and agree interim applications and final accounts with contractors </li><li>Work closely with project managers, design teams, and clients to ensure commercial alignment </li><li>Identify and mitigate commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Skills & xwzovoh Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline </li><li>Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the residential construction sector </li><li>Strong knowledge of construction contracts </li><li>Experience working on housing developments, apartments, or mixed-use residential schemes </li><li>Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills </li><li>Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial awareness </li><li>Proficient in relevant QS software and Microsoft Excel</li></ul>
