Job description
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor Location: Belfast based with travel throughout UK Reports to: Commercial Director Employment Type: Full-Time Quantity Surveyor (QS) is responsible for managing all costs relating to construction projects, from initial estimates to final accounts.<br><br>Read on to fully understand what this job requires in terms of skills and experience If you are a good match, make an application.<br><br>Also to ensure projects are completed within budget while meeting quality and regulatory standards.<br><br>Key Responsibilities 1.<br><br>Cost Planning & Estimation Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets.<br><br>Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses.<br><br>Analyse drawings and specifications to prepare bills of quantities (BOQ).<br><br>Advise on cost-effective construction methods and materials.<br><br>2.<br><br>Tendering & Procurement Prepare tender documents and contracts.<br><br>Evaluate contractor bids and negotiate pricing.<br><br>Assist in contractor and supplier selection.<br><br>Manage procurement processes.<br><br>3.<br><br>Contract Administration Monitor project progress and control costs.<br><br>Prepare interim valuations and payment applications.<br><br>Manage variations and change orders.<br><br>Assess and settle final accounts.<br><br>4.<br><br>Risk & Compliance Management Identify financial and contractual risks.<br><br>Ensure compliance with legal and industry standards.<br><br>Provide advice on dispute resolution and claims management.<br><br>5.<br><br>Stakeholder Coordination Liaise with clients, contractors, engineers, and architects.<br><br>Attend site meetings and progress reviews.<br><br>Provide financial reports and updates to stakeholders.<br><br>Qualifications & Skills Education Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.<br><br>Technical Skills Knowledge of construction methods and materials.<br><br>Understanding of standard contract forms (e.g., FIDIC, NEC, JCT & MTC).<br><br>Strong numerical and analytical skills.<br><br>Personal Attributes Excellent negotiation and communication skills.<br><br>Attention to detail.<br><br>Problem-solving ability.<br><br>Time management and organizational skills.<br><br>Benefits Company health cash back plan.<br><br>Company pension.<br><br>Onsite parking.<br><br>Life insurance. xwzovoh <br><br>Company events.<br><br>Early Friday finish<br>TPBN1_NI
