Protection & Controls Engineer

<p><strong>About the Role:</strong></p><p><br><br>All potential candidates should read through the following details of this job with care before making an application.<br></p><p>As a Protection & Control Engineer, you will design a range of Technical Protection & Control solutions for EHV substation projects including both AIS & GIS substations at voltages ranging from 11kV to 400kV. You could be based in either our Newcastle, Stockton-on-Tees, Leeds or Manchester offices but you will need the flexibility to travel to UK client offices and sites as required.</p><p><br></p><p>You will:</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Produce a comprehensive suite of protection and control system design drawings for 11kV up to and including 132kV systems.</li><li>Develop new protection solutions to meet the requirement of a future smart grid.</li><li>Integrate protection and SCADA systems to deliver cost effective design solutions.</li><li>Create all associated Engineering Design calculations and documentation.</li><li>Support the creation of all necessary Equipment specifications.</li><li>Visit Sites to assess project requirements.</li><li>Attend site meetings and provide ongoing design drawing changes / support as required during project build.</li><li>Review designs produced by suppliers and client to ensure designs are technically compliant and in line with current legislation and policies.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>HNC Electrical Engineering</li></ul><p><br></p><p> <strong>Required Skills</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Proven experience in the design of protection and control schemes.</li><li>Knowledge of Electrical Networks and Engineering standards.</li><li>An ability to interpret technical documentation relating to design.</li><li>Knowledge and experience of working with main suppliers’ products of substation control equipment (such as ABB/Hitachi, Siemens, GE).</li><li>Experience in main standard protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 60870.</li><li>Full driving licence.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Skills</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>None specified.</li></ul><p><br></p><p> <strong>Pay range and compensation package</strong></p><p><br></p><ul><li>Not specified. xwzovoh </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Equal Opportunity Statement</strong></p><p><br></p><p>We are committed to diversity and inclusivity.</p>
