Do you believe everyone deserves dignity, compassion and the opportunity to rebuild their future?</strong></p> <p>We are looking for a caring, reliable and proactive <strong>Project Worker</strong> to join our dedicated team at <strong>The Winchester Beacon </strong>working shifts during evenings, nights and weekends. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults experiencing homelessness and complex challenges within a supportive community environment.</p> <p>Working alongside staff and volunteers, you will help create a safe, welcoming and empowering space where residents can feel respected, supported and encouraged to move forward positively.</p> <p><strong>What you’ll be doing</strong></p> <p>As a Project Worker you will play a central role in supporting the day-to-day running of the service while building positive relationships with residents and volunteers.</p> <p>Your responsibilities will include:</p> <ul> <li>Creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive and welcoming environment</li> <li>Supporting residents using a person-centred and trauma-informed approach</li> <li>Carrying out wellbeing, safety and building checks</li> <li>Managing safeguarding concerns and responding calmly to incidents</li> <li>Supporting residents with practical needs including bedding, toiletries and clothing</li> <li>Encouraging resident participation and engagement within the community</li> <li>Supporting and guiding volunteers in their roles</li> <li>Maintaining accurate records, reports and handovers</li> <li>Helping uphold health and safety, confidentiality and safeguarding procedures</li> <li>Working collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to reduce homelessness in the local community</li> </ul> <p>This role requires flexibility, emotional resilience and the ability to work independently while remaining part of a supportive and compassionate team.</p> <p><strong>We’d love to hear from you if you are:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental</li> <li>Calm under pressure and confident handling challenging situations</li> <li>Organised, reliable and able to prioritise effectively</li> <li>A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills</li> <li>Comfortable working independently and using initiative</li> <li>Passionate about supporting vulnerable adults and promoting inclusion</li> </ul> <p><strong>Essential E=experience and skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience supporting xwzovoh adults experiencing homelessness, complex needs or challenging behaviour</li> <li>Strong organisational and record-keeping skills</li> <li>Good IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook</li> <li>Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality</li> <li>A proactive, solution-focused mindset</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience working within the charity sector</li> <li>Knowledge of safeguarding and risk assessments</li> <li>Familiarity with the Winchester/local area</li> </ul> <p><strong>What we offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata)</li> <li>Pension scheme</li> <li>Medicash healthcare plan</li> <li>Ongoing training and development opportunities</li> <li>A supportive and collaborative team environment</li> <li>The opportunity to make a genuine difference every day</li> </ul>
