<p><strong>Project Manager, Contracts & Commercial – BESS</strong></p><p><br><br>Is this your next job Read the full description below to find out, and do not hesitate to make an application.<br></p><p>Leap29 are seeking a Project Manager, Contracts & Commercial – BESS with a strong electrical engineering background to support the development phase of large-scale renewable energy projects.</p><p><br></p><p>This role sits at the intersection of electrical engineering, commercial strategy, and project development, with a key focus on ensuring projects are technically sound, commercially viable, and investment-ready.</p><p><br></p><p>You will play a critical role in due diligence, contract structuring, and grid/electrical design alignment, supporting projects through feasibility, development, and financial close.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Lead commercial and contractual strategy across project development</li><li>Draft, review, and negotiate key agreements including EPC, BoP, grid connection, land, and OEM supply contracts</li><li>Act as the link between engineering and commercial teams, ensuring alignment between electrical scope and contractual obligations</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Due Diligence & Project Validation</strong></p><ul><li>Support and lead technical and commercial due diligence for project acquisitions, partnerships, and financing</li><li>Review electrical designs, grid connection strategies, and engineering studies to assess project viability</li><li>Identify technical, commercial, and contractual risks, particularly related to HV/MV infrastructure and grid integration</li><li>Interface with lenders, investors, and advisors during due diligence processes</li><li>Ensure projects meet bankability standards and are structured for financial close</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Engineering & Electrical Scope</strong></p><ul><li>Provide technical input into HV/MV systems, substations, grid compliance, and connection agreements</li><li>Support procurement of major electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, cables, inverters)</li><li>Evaluate bids from contractors from both a technical and commercial perspective</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Commercial & Delivery</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and manage budgets, cost estimates, and financial models</li><li>Support tendering and procurement strategies</li><li>Manage stakeholder relationships across developers, utilities, EPC contractors, and consultants</li><li>Ensure smooth transition from development to construction phase xwzovoh </li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><ul><li>Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline</li><li>Strong experience in renewable energy or power infrastructure projects</li><li>Proven background in contracts, commercial management, or project development</li><li>Hands-on experience supporting or leading technical/commercial due diligence</li><li>Strong understanding of HV/MV systems, grid connections, and electrical infrastructure</li><li>Experience working with EPC contracts, OEMs, and utilities (TSO/DSO)</li><li>Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills</li><li>Commercially astute with a strong understanding of risk and project bankability</li></ul><p><br></p><p>If you are interested in this fantastic opportunity, please send your CV through to Leap29.</p>
