<p>Position: <strong>Project Design Engineer (Design & Projects)</strong></p><p>Contract: <strong>Permanent</strong></p><p>Location: <strong>Worcestershire</strong></p><p>Salary: <strong>up to £52,000 (depending on experience)</strong> plus performance bonus (paid twice yearly in June & December payslip), Plus Flexitime (employees can choose their working pattern)</p><p>Industry: <strong>Oil & Gas (Pressure Vessel experience is a must)</strong></p><p><br><br>A variety of soft skills and experience may be required for the following role Please ensure you check the overview below carefully.<br></p><p>PRS Engineering has engaged with a key client and a leading Oil & Gas Equipment manufacturer based in the Worcestershire area. Due to team expansion and booming industry, we are seeking a Project Design Engineer on a permanent basis.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Summary of Job:</strong></p><ul><li>Responsible for various ongoing projects including the cost-effective design, material procurement, instigation, control and compilation and submission of all associated engineering documentation</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Staff relationship:</strong></p><ul><li>Directly responsible to the Engineering Manager and Lead Engineers in their absence</li><li>Direct supervision of sub-ordinates; may have the services of Junior Engineers, Draughtspersons and Trainee Engineers</li><li>Liaises internally with all departments</li><li>Liaises externally with clients, certified authorities, third party inspection bodies, suppliers, sub-contractors, etc.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Duties and responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Shall be fully committed to the achievement of the company policies and objectives with attention to quality, safety & environment</li><li>Will undertake reasonable instructions from senior personnel in the best interests of the company</li><li>Special respect shall be paid to quality and safety and include but not be limited to the</li></ul><p>following:</p><ul><li>Assisting Sales in the preparation of quotation drawings/documentation (workload permitting)</li><li>Assisting in the development of new equipment/new product ranges (workload permitting)</li><li>Assisting in the creation of standard 3D models and library parts (workload permitting)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong><u>Design</u></strong></p><ul><li>Creating cost effective designs by integration of common parts and standardisation of components</li><li>Producing General Arrangement drawings, Manufacturing drawings and Technical Specifications</li><li>Producing 3D models for estimating weights, volumes, interferences, determining complex geometry, etc.</li><li>Verification of designs by calculations and/or FEA/CFD (analysis to be carried out under supervision)</li><li>Designing products that are safe and in accordance with Health & Safely legislation</li><li>Designing products that comply with applicable design codes, e.g. ASME VIII, ASME B31.3, etc.</li><li>Designing products that comply with applicable governing legislation, e.g. 2014/68/EU (PED)</li></ul><p><strong><u>Material Procurement</u></strong></p><ul><li>Producing material requisitions to ensure all material/quantity/technical requirements are identified</li><li>Using standard components and referencing part numbers from the company system, where possible</li><li>Instigation and ongoing control of projects/contracts from Sales hand-over through to delivery.</li><li>Organisation of the duties, tasks & workload of engineers assisting on larger contracts.</li><li>Liaison with Quality/Production to ensure ‘sub-contract’ and ‘in-house’ activity is considered and controlled</li><li>Supervising workshop personnel and/or sub-contractors, as required</li><li>Organisation and preparation of all engineering documentation requirements, as required by the contract</li><li>Submission of required contract documentation to client/third party, via the Documentation department</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Relevant Active Procedures:</strong></p><p>All other duties and responsibilities are detailed in the relevant quality and working procedures – follow link</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications/Experience</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Minimum GCSE Grade 5 (equivalent grade C) or higher in Maths & English HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar</p><p>Essential knowledge of Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat</p><p>AutoCAD experience essential</p><p><br></p><p>SolidWorks & 3D Modelling</p><p>ASME PV code knowledge required (i.e. ASME VIII)</p><p><br></p><p>Knowledge of manufacturing, welding, piping and materials essential Experience of working within the Oil & Gas industry preferred</p><p>Experience of fabricated & cast filters, strainers and pressure vessels required</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul><li>Company bonus</li><li>Company pension scheme</li><li>Life insurance (death in service)</li><li>23 days holiday (19 floating days, 4 fixed towards Christmas shutdown) +extra service days +Bank</li></ul><p>Holidays +Birthday Leave (after 2 full calendar years’ service)</p><ul><li>Training opportunities</li><li>Free on-site parking</li><li>Free eye tests and contribution towards lenses/spectacles for VDU users, if appropriate</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Hours of work</strong></p><p>Office hours enable flexi-time working, covering a 37-hour week. xwzovoh Flexible start and finish times are available with core hours which must be covered each day. Monday to Thursday covers an 8-hour shift and Friday covers a 5-hour shift.</p>
