GCH focus on the deployment of electrolytic hydrogen projects as a key part of the global energy transition and de-carbonisation strategy. The business works closely with sister companies through the planning, permitting/licensing, engineering and design and construction of green hydrogen projects.</p><p>We are seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer to lead the process safety design activities for our projects (feasibility through to operation). This is a senior full or part-time position (minimum 3 days per week).</p><p><br></p><p><strong>The Role:</strong></p><ul><li>Provides process safety related technical design competence and guidance to Green Cat Hydrogen.</li><li>Leads or supports the planning and implementation of the Process Hazards Analysis programmes including chairing Hazard Studies and/or identifying appropriate resource to chair.</li><li>Leads or supports LOPAs (Level of Protection Analysis) reviews.</li><li>Produces DSEAR assessments and Hazardous Area Classification documents.</li><li>Regularly reviews the status of process safety information and identifies gaps and develops improvement plans for projects.</li><li>Provides approval for Projects with process safety impact to ensure robustness of engineering design.</li><li>Coaches/mentors less experienced engineers and others to ensure process safety issues are addressed as part of design and operational processes.</li><li>Manages Hazardous Substances Consent and COMAH reports to meet legislative requirements.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>The ideal Candidate must have:</strong></p><ul><li>8+ years of experience in process safety design within relevant industries (e.g., hydrogen, Oil & Gas, renewable energy, industrial gases, or chemical processing).</li><li>Have strong technical skills in process safety area.</li><li>Experience in leading HAZOP, HAZID, SIL assessments, and other safety studies.</li><li>Have strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complicated systems and regulations.</li><li>Have risk assessment skills β knowledge of specific tools required and ability to interpret results.</li><li>Demonstrate awareness of human factors influence on process safety.</li><li>Be TUV Certified or experience with Safety Instrumented Systems Lifecycle.</li><li>Have experience with the interpretation of results from QRAs.</li><li>Strong understanding of process safety management principles.</li><li>Excellent communication and leadership skills.</li><li>Willingness to travel as necessary, supported by a valid UK driving license.</li><li>Have the right to work in the United Kingdom, full-time, in perpetuity.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>The Candidate would benefit from:</strong></p><ul><li>Chartered status with a relevant professional body.</li><li>Be capable of influencing at all levels in the organisation.</li><li>Be capable of explaining decisions and rationale to all levels as required</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>The employment package:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive pro-rata salary.</li><li>Private Medical Healthcare.</li><li>Pro-rata annual leave entitlement.</li><li>Cycle to work scheme.</li><li>Professional development opportunities and support.</li><li>Professional fees paid for by the company.</li><li>Company social events and team building days.</li><li>On-site parking with EV charging points available to staff (Edinburgh Roslin office only).</li><li>Flexible working opportunities.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Please submit your application including:</strong></p><ul><li>Cover Letter (no page limit); and,</li><li>CV (maximum 3 pages).</li></ul><p><br></p><p>We will only be able to contact those applicants who have been selected for interviews.
