<p>Job Description</p><br>Like the look of this opportunity Make sure to apply fast, as a high volume of applications is expected Scroll down to read the complete job description.<br><p>Principal Civil Engineer (Design) / Project Civil Engineer</p><p>Location: Bridgend (Hybrid Working)Salary: Up to £63,000 + + car allowance + package</p><p>We are partnering with a leading UK infrastructure delivery organisation to recruit a Principal Civil Engineer (Design) (also known as a Project Civil Engineer) for their growing in-house engineering consultancy, based in Bridgend.</p><p>This is a senior technical and project leadership role offering the opportunity to work within a contractor-backed design environment, delivering complex infrastructure schemes across water, heavy industrial, power and design & build sectors.</p><p>The Role</p><p>Reporting to a Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the technical leadership and delivery of either a portfolio of smaller projects or a larger, more complex scheme. You will provide direction to project teams, apply sound engineering judgement, and ensure high-quality, buildable solutions are delivered safely and efficiently.</p><p>Key responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Leading the production of outline and detailed civil designs, including calculations, reports, drawings and specifications</li><li>Applying engineering excellence while promoting innovation and continuous improvement</li><li>Planning, directing and controlling tasks, people and resources to deliver projects to agreed time, cost and quality targets</li><li>Managing and controlling project budgets, with a strong understanding of commercial and contractual frameworks</li><li>Ensuring compliance with internal quality procedures, health & safety and environmental legislation</li><li>Providing technical leadership, mentoring and development to engineers and technicians</li><li>Coordinating and reviewing multi-disciplinary design inputs to ensure robust, buildable solutions</li><li>Working collaboratively with clients, contractors and the wider supply chain to develop and deliver project objectives</li><li>Supporting site teams during design and construction phases to agree practical, buildable solutions</li></ul><p>About You</p><p>To be successful in this role, you will have:</p><ul><li>A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent qualification)</li><li>Strong experience delivering civil design on UK infrastructure projects</li><li>Excellent working knowledge of Eurocodes and UK industry standards, with the ability to review designs and mentor others</li><li>Proven experience leading teams and managing technical delivery on multi-disciplinary projects</li><li>Commercial awareness and understanding of project controls</li><li>Confidence working in a contractor-facing, delivery-focused environment</li><li>A UK/EEC driving licence</li><li>Flexibility to work from other UK offices, client locations or project sites on a short-term basis when required</li><li>Chartered status with a relevant professional body is desirable. xwzovoh </li></ul><p>Why Apply?</p><ul><li>Senior leadership role within a contractor-backed in-house design consultancy</li><li>Opportunity to lead complex, high-profile national infrastructure projects</li><li>Genuine influence over design decisions, buildability and delivery outcomes</li><li>Clear long-term career progression as the design function continues to grow</li><li>Flexible, hybrid working approach</li><li>Strong focus on professional development and technical excellence</li></ul><p>Please apply via the link or for more information contact:Krystina Hartry MCIOB - Senior Consultant, Construction & Property </p>
