<p>Job Description</p><br>You could be just the right applicant for this job Read all associated information and make sure to apply.<br><p>1:1 Teaching Assistant (Behavioural SEN) – Year 4/5</p><p>Location: DN7Contract: Supply (Term Time Only)Pay Rate:£93 per dayStart Date: 18th May 2026</p><p>About the Role</p><p>Reed Education is seeking a dedicated and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 4/5 with behavioural SEN needs in a welcoming primary school in the DN7 area.</p><p>This supply role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with additional needs and making a meaningful impact on their education, behaviour and emotional wellbeing.</p><p>You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and wider pastoral team to deliver consistent, supportive and positive interventions throughout the school day.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with behavioural/SEMH needs</li><li>Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour using agreed strategies</li><li>Encourage engagement with learning and promote independence</li><li>Implement behaviour plans and SEN support strategies</li><li>Support learning both in and out of the classroom</li><li>Assist with transitions, break times and unstructured periods</li><li>Maintain clear communication with school staff and Reed consultants</li></ul><p>The Ideal Candidate Will Have:</p><ul><li>Previous experience supporting children with SEN or behavioural needs (desirable)</li><li>A calm, patient and consistent approach</li><li>Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills</li><li>A genuine passion for inclusion and supporting vulnerable learners</li><li>The ability to work effectively as part of a team</li></ul><p>Benefits of Working with Reed Education on Supply</p><ul><li>Competitive daily pay of £93</li><li>Flexible working – choose when and where you work</li><li>Dedicated Reed Education consultant for ongoing support</li><li>Access to free CPD and training including SEN and safeguarding</li><li>Opportunities for long-term and permanent roles</li><li>Peace of mind with weekly pay and clear communication</li></ul><p>Safeguarding</p><p>Reed Education and the school are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
