Job Title: Power Electronics Design Engineer<br><br>Read all the information about this opportunity carefully, then use the application button below to send your CV and application.<br>Location: Glasgow<br>Salary: Up to £60k (depending on experience)<br><br>We’re partnering with an innovative technology company seeking a Power Electronics Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on the design and development of advanced power electronic systems, from concept through to production, in a collaborative, technically driven environment.<br><br>Key Responsibilities<br><br> * Design and develop power electronic circuits, including DC-DC, AC-DC, and motor drive systems<br><br> * Create schematics and PCB layouts for high-current and high-voltage designs, including multi-layer boards<br><br> * Select components, calculate ratings, and manage bills of materials (BOMs) for power designs<br><br> * Support prototype build, bring-up, testing, and debugging, including thermal and efficiency validation<br><br> * Conduct design verification, EMC/EMI testing, and ensure regulatory compliance<br><br> * Participate in design reviews and produce clear technical documentation<br><br> * Support transition from prototype to production, including manufacturability and reliability considerations<br><br>Required Skills & Experience<br><br> * Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline<br><br> * Strong experience in power electronics design (switch-mode power supplies, converters, motor drives, inverters)<br><br> * PCB design experience using tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or xwzovoh KiCad, including high-current/high-voltage layouts<br><br> * Solid understanding of power systems, thermal management, signal integrity, and EMC principles<br><br> * Experience taking designs from concept through to manufacture and production<br><br> * Exposure to embedded systems or microcontrollers is advantageous<br><br> * Knowledge of relevant compliance standards (CE, UKCA, FCC)<br><br>Please note, we cannot offer sponsorship for this role.<br><br>If you are interested, please send over an updated CV
