<p><strong>Overhead Line Project Engineer</strong></p><p><br><br>The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications.<br></p><p>This position sits within a Transmission Project Engineering function, with a primary focus on AC Overhead Line (OHL) systems. Candidates with a project engineering background and experience working on transmission networks—particularly at 132kV and above—are encouraged to apply. Experience gained within contractor, consultancy, or client-side organisations in the energy sector will be advantageous.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Provide overhead line engineering support for 400kV, 275kV and 132kV projects across the full project lifecycle, as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team.</li><li>Review contractor and consultant design proposals, ensuring compliance with relevant specifications, standards, and guidance.</li><li>Undertake a Project Engineering role, ensuring engineering governance is followed and coordination is maintained across all engineering disciplines.</li><li>Support the project team by managing engineering risks and identifying opportunities to enhance project outcomes.</li><li>Act as the technical point of contact for overhead line engineering and represent engineering at strategic, commercial, programme, and site meetings.</li><li>Promote and manage safety through the implementation of CDM procedures, ensuring compliance with organisational, HSE, and industry regulations.</li><li>Work closely with Engineering and Project Management teams to identify and mitigate engineering and quality risks.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>About You</strong></p><ul><li>Strong technical capability in overhead line development, design, and specification, or demonstrable transferable experience.</li><li>Experience with overhead line design software (e.g. PLS-CADD) is desirable but not essential.</li><li>Degree or HND in a relevant technical discipline, with appropriate industry experience.</li><li>Proactive and analytical, with a strong problem-solving approach and evidence-based decision making. xwzovoh </li><li>Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and convey technical information effectively at all levels.</li></ul>
