Develop your career.</p><p>An established, high-quality nursery in Reading is seeking an experienced and passionate Room Leader to join its dedicated Early Years team.</p><p>Set within a beautiful campus environment, this purpose-built nursery provides care for children aged 3 months to 5 years and is known for its strong values, inclusive ethos and commitment to outstanding childcare.</p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled practitioner who enjoys leading others, supporting children’s development and delivering best practice in Early Years.</p><p>What’s on offer</p><p>We recognise the importance of supporting our people both professionally and personally. Benefits include:</p><ul><li>35 days annual leave (including bank holidays and nursery closure days)</li><li>50% discounted childcare</li><li>Flexible working patterns across 4 or 4.5 days</li><li>Access to Perkbox for wellbeing support and everyday savings</li><li>TOTUM card for additional lifestyle discounts</li><li>Strong focus on training, development and progression</li><li>A supportive, values-led workplace</li></ul><p>The Role</p><p>As Room Leader, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the effective day-to-day running of your room, maintaining the highest standards of care, learning, safeguarding and wellbeing.</p><p>Key responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Leading, guiding and motivating a team of childcare practitioners</li><li>Creating a safe, welcoming and stimulating learning environment</li><li>Supporting children’s learning and development in line with the EYFS</li><li>Playing a key role in supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)</li><li>Building positive, professional relationships with parents and carers</li><li>Leading on behaviour management, safeguarding, health & safety and first aid within your room</li></ul><p>This role is ideal for someone who enjoys responsibility, thrives in a leadership position and wants to make a meaningful impact on children’s early years.</p><p>About You</p><p>Essential requirements:</p><ul><li>NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Childcare</li><li>Experience working in an Early Years setting</li><li>Strong understanding of the EYFS, child development and safeguarding</li><li>Previous experience leading or supervising a team</li><li>Confident communicator with parents and professionals</li><li>Enhanced DBS and two suitable references</li></ul><p>Desirable:</p><ul><li>Paediatric First Aid qualification</li><li>Food Hygiene Level 2 certificate</li></ul><p>Above all, you’ll be enthusiastic, nurturing, organised and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.</p><p>Why Apply?</p><p>You’ll be joining a professional, forward-thinking nursery that truly values its staff.
