<p>Job Description</p><br>Read on to find out what you will need to succeed in this position, including skills, qualifications, and experience.<br><p>I'm partnered with well established and rapidly growing FMCG manufacturer in the North West is seeking a Mechanically Biased Maintenance Engineer to join their growing engineering team.</p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong mechanical expertise to join a forward-thinking business with ongoing investment in people, plant, and processes.</p><p>Shift Pattern</p><ul><li>4 on / 4 off - days & nights (6am-6pm / 6pm-6am)</li><li>No Saturday night shifts</li></ul><p>Responsibilities</p><p>Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will work closely with production and engineering leadership:</p><ul><li>Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on manufacturing equipment</li><li>Attend breakdowns and complete mechanical repairs efficiently</li><li>Ensure all maintenance activity is logged and recorded accurately</li><li>Identify recurring issues and contribute to root cause analysis</li><li>Liaise with engineering management regarding parts, spares, and improvements</li><li>Work as part of a small multi-skilled engineering team</li><li>Support and mentor junior engineers where required</li><li>Promote and maintain high Health & Safety standards</li><li>Contribute ideas to improve reliability, process flow, and engineering best practice</li><li>Support building maintenance as directed</li></ul><p>Requirements</p><ul><li>Strong mechanical engineering knowledge, ideally within an FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environment</li><li>Solid understanding of mechanical systems including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, fillers, wrappers, mixers etc.</li><li>Basic electrical understanding (advantageous but not essential)</li><li>Recognised engineering apprenticeship or qualifications such as BTEC ONC, HNC, HND in Mechanical Engineering</li><li>Understanding of HACCP, COSHH and GMP (desirable)</li><li>Experience with CMMS systems</li><li>Ability to work autonomously and within a team</li><li>Strong problem solving skills and a proactive approach</li><li>Experience with continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and implementing preventative measures</li><li>Additional skills such as welding, fabrication or machining are beneficial</li></ul><p>The Business</p><p>This manufacturer is a market leader within it's FMCG sector, producing a wide range of consumer products for multiple retail and distribution channels.
