<p>Job Description</p><br>Please read the information in this job post thoroughly to understand exactly what is expected of potential candidates.<br><p>Microsoft Fabric BI Developer</p><p>Data Platform & Reporting Manager</p><p>Standard 8 is partnering with a heavily regulated, engineering-led business looking for someone to take full ownership of its data platform and reporting estate.</p><p>This is a hands-on role. You’ll sit across engineering, modelling and reporting — building a platform that actually works, not just looks good in a demo.</p><p>What you’ll be doing</p><ul><li>Own Microsoft Fabric end-to-end (Warehouse + Lakehouse)</li><li>Build and manage data pipelines via Azure Data Factory / Fabric</li><li>Keep data flowing cleanly from source systems (including SAP environments)</li><li>Set standards for storage, performance and platform reliability</li><li>Run the reporting environment properly — workspaces, deployments, capacity</li><li>Design robust Power BI semantic models (clean logic, reusable, fast)</li><li>Deliver dashboards, paginated reports and apps people rely on</li><li>Make reporting usable on mobile for operational teams</li><li>Create “golden datasets” to enable proper self-service (without chaos)</li><li>Lock down data properly — RLS, OLS, roles and access control</li><li>Ensure everything meets strict regulatory standards (GDPR, PCI, ITAR)</li><li>Act as the go-to person for the reporting platform</li><li>Train users and push adoption across the business</li><li>Move teams away from spreadsheets and into governed reporting</li></ul><p>What you need</p><ul><li>Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Warehouse + Lakehouse)</li><li>Proven track record building data pipelines (ADF / Fabric)</li><li>Deep Power BI experience (modelling, DAX, admin, performance)</li><li>Solid grasp of data modelling and transformation (Power Query, Python)</li><li>Experience working with ERP/MRP data (messy, high-volume, real-world)</li><li>Confidence xwzovoh handling financial data where accuracy matters</li></ul><p>Nice to have:</p><ul><li>SAP Datasphere exposure</li><li>PowerShell / R for automation or analysis</li></ul><p>The profile</p><ul><li>Proper data engineer who understands reporting — not one or the other</li><li>Comfortable owning a platform, not just contributing to one</li><li>Able to challenge stakeholders and cut through bad requirements</li><li>Brings structure, standards and a bit of backbone</li></ul><p>Other</p><ul><li>Degree helpful, not essential</li><li>Power BI certification a bonus</li><li>Must be eligible for UK SC Clearance</li></ul>
