Be a part of it.</p><p>Broughton House is a 29 bed specialist residential service for adults with severe learning disabilities, autism and behaviours that challenge</p><p>We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Assistant with a passion for making a difference to others. </p><p>You’ll be working full time 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm carrying out day-to-day maintenance tasks on the fabric of the building, its services and grounds in order to ensure the home is maintained in a safe and efficient functional order.</p><p>No specific qualifications needed however applicants will need to have a general background of maintenance work i.e. carpentry, plumbing, painting and decorating and must be a car driver.</p><p>Apply now to enjoy excellent career prospects while reaping the rewards of making a difference to others – every day.</p><p>Your Day-to-Day…</p><ul><li>Undertake day-to-day maintenance and planned remedial works to keep building, plant, and services in working order, keeping records of call-outs and routine checks as directed.</li><li>Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work</li><li>Ensure all equipment used is clean and well maintained.</li><li>Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards</li><li>Check the fire alarm points weekly, including fire exits, door retaining devices & fire emergency lights</li><li>Test and record all portable appliances as specified in Group procedures</li></ul><p>We are looking for people who have…</p><ul><li>Previous experience working within a team and on your own in a maintenance / building contractors role</li><li>Previous experience of repairing of various equipment and materials, painting, decorating, plumbing, carpentry and basic wiring work.</li><li>Full driving license and own car</li><li>Preferably hold a City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in Carpentry or plumbing.</li><li>A working knowledge of health and safety requirements and safe working practices.</li><li>A good practical knowledge in basic plumbing would be an advantage</li></ul><p>Why Cygnet?
