<p><strong>Machine Learning Research Engineer</strong></p><p>Research-led role</p><p><br><br>Apply (by clicking the relevant button) after checking through all the related job information below.<br></p><p>We’re partnering with an ambitious early-stage biotech company applying advanced machine learning to complex biological problems.</p><p>This is a <strong>research-driven role</strong> for someone who wants to work on genuinely challenging problems at the intersection of <strong>deep learning and genomics</strong>.</p><p>You’ll work directly with senior technical leadership, contributing to the development of <strong>next-generation models and research frameworks</strong>.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What you’ll be doing:</strong></p><ul><li>Designing and developing advanced deep learning models for biological data</li><li>Working with sequence-based and multimodal datasets</li><li>Exploring new architectures, training strategies, and evaluation approaches</li><li>Contributing to longer-term research directions (including foundation models)</li><li>Collaborating closely with bioinformatics and science teams</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>What we’re looking for:</strong></p><ul><li>PhD in Machine Learning, AI, or a related field</li><li>Strong experience with Python and PyTorch (or JAX)</li><li>Track record of independent research (publications, thesis, or equivalent)</li><li>Experience designing and training complex neural networks (e.g. transformers)</li><li>Strong experimental and problem-solving mindset</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Nice to have:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working with biological or sequence data</li><li>Exposure to large-scale or foundation model training</li><li>Interest in applying ML to xwzovoh real-world scientific problems</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Why this role:</strong></p><ul><li>A genuinely <strong>research-led position</strong> with real influence</li><li>Work on problems where the answers are not known</li><li>Close collaboration with senior technical leadership</li><li>Strong learning environment with dedicated development time</li><li>Flexible working (4 or 5 day week)</li></ul><p><br></p><p>If you’re motivated by <strong>hard problems, real impact, and intellectual ownership</strong>, this is one to explore.</p>
