<p><strong>Lead Senior Lighting & Electrical Engineer</strong></p><p><br><br>If you would like to know a bit more about this opportunity, or are considering applying, then please read the following job information.<br></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Birmingham, B4 6AT (Hybrid, UK flexible locations considered)</p><p><strong>Salary:</strong> £55,000 – £65,000</p><p><strong>Contract: </strong>Permanent</p><p><br></p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p>We are seeking a permanent Lead Senior Lighting & Electrical Engineer to join a Consulting Energy, Lighting & Technology Practice. You will work on major UK infrastructure lighting and technology projects within a large-scale transport renewals programme.</p><p>You will take a lead role in project delivery, oversee technical outputs, and support the development of a growing team of lighting engineers.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead a team delivering compliant, technically sound engineering solutions</li><li>Produce and check designs, calculations, drawings, and project documentation</li><li>Oversee and support junior engineers’ work</li><li>Manage project budgets and commercial performance</li><li>Liaise with clients, suppliers, and stakeholders</li><li>Support bid preparation and work-winning activities</li><li>Ensure health and safety compliance across all project work</li><li>Act as main engineering contact on assigned projects</li><li>Contribute to design reviews and risk management</li><li>Act as Principal Designer where required</li><li>Supervise and develop a small technical team</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in lighting or electrical engineering design delivery</li><li>Strong understanding of relevant technical standards and client requirements</li><li>Knowledge of transport/roadside infrastructure systems (desirable)</li><li>Strong experience with CDM Regulations and health & safety management</li><li>Ability to manage project risks, budgets, and deliverables</li><li>Experience checking technical design outputs</li><li>Competent with relevant engineering xwzovoh software/tools</li><li>Strong client-facing and communication skills</li><li>Experience mentoring or managing engineers</li><li>Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (desirable or contract-dependent)</li><li>Senior Engineer level experience or equivalent</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul><li>Flexible and hybrid working arrangements</li><li>Career development and structured progression</li><li>Support toward professional qualifications</li><li>Pension scheme</li><li>24+ days holiday plus bank holidays</li><li>Health and wellbeing support</li><li>Employee discount scheme</li><li>Volunteering and social value opportunities</li></ul>
