<p>We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team working on cutting-edge, complex technology products. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on mechanical design and project ownership across multi-disciplinary development programmes.</p><p><br><br>Scroll down to find an indepth overview of this job, and what is expected of candidates Make an application by clicking on the Apply button.<br></p><p>You will lead by example, driving engineering excellence while remaining actively involved in design, analysis, and problem-solving.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Translate department objectives into clear team goals, KPIs, and delivery initiatives</li><li>Lead and develop a mechanical engineering team, shaping working practices, design processes, and project execution standards</li><li>Identify capability gaps within the team and support technical and professional development</li><li>Take ownership of key project work packages and continuous improvement initiatives</li><li>Coordinate delivery across internal engineering teams and external partners</li><li>Act as a technical authority and hands-on contributor within mechanical design activities</li><li>Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated system development</li><li>Support management of workforce priorities, including advising on team structure, policies, and performance matters</li><li>Ensure team alignment with organisational processes, standards, and expectations</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Skills & Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Proven track record of leading product development within mechanical engineering environments</li><li>Experience in mechanical design of high-tech equipment across full product lifecycle</li><li>Strong background in precision xwzovoh engineering, including optical systems integration</li><li>Expert knowledge of mechanical design standards for precision machined and sheet metal components</li><li>Proficiency in SolidWorks, with experience in FEA or flow simulation considered advantageous</li><li>Strong hands-on engineering capability with understanding of modern manufacturing methods</li><li>Excellent organisational and coordination skills, with experience managing multiple concurrent technical activities</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Apply today or contact Gemma for more information!</p>
