Job description
<p>Fortress Recruit is working with a specialist defence engineering business to recruit an In-Service Support Engineer based on their site in Poole.</p><p><br><br>Check you match the skill requirements for this role, as well as associated experience, then apply with your CV below.<br></p><p>This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical engineering background who enjoys problem-solving, customer interaction and coordinating support activity, acting as the first point of contact for customer technical enquiries across naval and maritime systems used globally.</p><p><br></p><p>Key responsibilities:</p><p><br></p><ul><li>Act as the first point of contact for technical issues, defect reports and support enquiries</li><li>Carry out initial fault triage and technical investigations</li><li>Coordinate UK and overseas field engineer visits for repairs, upgrades, surveys and emergency support</li><li>Ensure engineers have correct documentation, equipment and technical information before deployment</li><li>Liaise with customers, engineers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure support activities are delivered on time</li><li>Support FAT, STW, HAT and SAT activities</li><li>Assist with technical documentation, service manuals, MoD paperwork and reporting</li><li>Maintain support trackers, customer feedback logs and product update records</li><li>Support obsolescence management and release technical notifications to customers</li><li>Work closely with aftermarket and repair teams to ensure quotations, repairs and upgrades meet customer deadlines</li></ul><p><br></p><p>To be successful in this role, you will have:</p><p><br></p><ul><li>HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering</li><li>Previous engineering support, field service or technical coordination experience</li><li>Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills</li><li>Electrical, electronic or mechanical engineering knowledge</li><li>Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation</li><li>Strong communication and customer-facing skills</li><li>Defence, marine, aerospace or other regulated industry experience </li><li>Eligibility for SC clearance (5 years' UK residency with no visa or sponsorship requirement)</li></ul><p><br></p><p>This is a great opportunity to join a growing defence engineering business supporting critical systems used globally.</p><p><br></p><p>This a full time, permanent role based in Poole, offering a competitive salary with learning and development opportunity, as well as some flexibility for remote working. xwzovoh </p><p><br></p><p>For a confidential conversation or to request the full job description, please click apply and send a full copy of your CV to Becki.</p>
