<p><strong>Higher Level Pharmacy Technician – Production (Band 5)</strong></p><p>Kettering General Hospital | University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group</p><p>Full-Time, Perm or Bank</p><p>Start Date: As soon as possible</p><p><br><br>Check out the role overview below If you are confident you have got the right skills and experience, apply today.<br></p><p><strong>About the Role</strong></p><p><br></p><p>We are working with Kettering General Hospital to recruit a Band 5 Higher Level Pharmacy Technician to join their Pharmacy Production Unit.</p><p>This is a key role supporting the delivery of a safe and efficient chemotherapy and aseptic production service, ensuring patients receive timely access to specialist medications.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Support the day-to-day management of the production and chemotherapy service</li><li>Prepare and dispense cytotoxic and aseptic medicines, including intravenous, intramuscular, and intrathecal treatments</li><li>Undertake final accuracy checking of dispensed items, including chemotherapy</li><li>Work within cleanroom/isolator environments in line with departmental procedures and safety standards</li><li>Produce worksheets and labels using pharmacy IT systems</li><li>Support the preparation of Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) for adults and neonates</li><li>Supervise and support junior staff, ensuring adherence to safe systems of work</li><li>Liaise with consultants, nursing staff, and wider MDT to ensure timely supply of medicines</li><li>Contribute to audit, service improvement, and clinical governance activities</li></ul><p><br></p><p>This is a varied role combining technical production, supervision, and patient-focused pharmacy services. xwzovoh </p><p><br></p><p><strong>Essential Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Qualified Pharmacy Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)</li><li>GPhC registration</li><li>Recent experience in a hospital aseptic or production environment</li><li>Experience in final accuracy checking</li><li>Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills</li><li>Ability to work accurately in a pressurised clinical environment</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Desirable</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working with chemotherapy or cytotoxic medicines</li><li>Experience supervising or training staff</li><li>Knowledge of TPN preparation</li><li>Experience in audit or service development</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Why Apply?</strong></p><ul><li>Work within a specialist chemotherapy and aseptic production service</li><li>Develop advanced technical skills in cytotoxic and sterile preparation</li><li>Be part of a supportive and experienced pharmacy team</li><li>Opportunity to contribute to service improvement and innovation</li><li>Play a direct role in supporting patient treatment pathways</li></ul>
