<p>We have an exciting opportunity for a HIAB Operator / Lorry Mounted Crane Driver to join one of Scotland’s leading Remote Access location specialists, working throughout the UK to support and deliver critical contract and logistics solutions.</p><p><br><br>All potential applicants are encouraged to scroll through and read the complete job description before applying.<br></p><p><strong>HGV Class 1 / Class 2 HIAB Driver</strong></p><p><strong>Role overview</strong></p><p>Full-time, permanent HGV driver role operating lorry-mounted cranes to lift, load, move and deliver various cabins, containers, plant and abnormal loads across the UK with a focus on rural Scotland and the islands and operating in these areas.</p><p>The role sits within the senior lorry loader team and suits an experienced, professional crane lifting operator with strong customer service focus.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Safely operate lorry-mounted cranes to lift, load, move and offload: cabins, containers, trackway panels, abnormal, wide, unbalanced and awkward loads, pillars, poles, metal structures and plant</li><li>Carry out hook lifting operations and plant moving/operating as required</li><li>Plan routes and drive primarily a lorry loader mounted vehicle, with trailers attached where required, ensuring safe efficient nationwide deliveries and collections.</li><li>As required drive a 4x4 or tracked mounted lorry loader, often in remote and isolated areas</li><li>Complete vehicle and crane pre-use checks, routine operator maintenance and basic defect reporting in line with company procedures and legislation.</li><li>Secure loads correctly using appropriate securing devices in line with best practice. </li><li>Load and unload cargoes utilising the correct lifting accessories, ensuring safe working loads are not exceeded and all relevant lifting plans and instructions are followed.</li><li>Maintain accurate paperwork, delivery notes, timesheets and any digital records as required.</li><li>Represent the company professionally on customer sites, liaising with clients, site supervisors and other contractors to deliver a safe, efficient lifting service.</li></ul><p><strong>Working pattern and conditions</strong></p><ul><li>Early starts are routine, with some late finishes, occasional weekends and occasional nights out as required by workload.</li><li>Nights out paid with cab overnight allowance; flexibility to sleep in the cab when required is essential.</li><li>Full company uniform provided; corporate dress and PPE must be worn and kept in good condition.</li><li>28 days holiday including public holidays, with additional training and development opportunities</li></ul><p><strong>Skills and experience</strong></p><p><strong>Essential:</strong></p><ul><li>Extensive, recent professional experience operating lorry-mounted cranes with hook.</li><li>Lifting. Loading, installing or removing complex lifts (abnormal, wide and unbalanced loads).</li><li>Proven HGV driving experience of similar vehicles.</li><li>Strong understanding of UK road networks and good geographical knowledge of the UK.</li><li>Good knowledge of rural Scotland and the associated road network and timings encountered on these road networks. </li><li>Sound knowledge of health and safety, lifting operations and load securing.</li><li>Excellent tachograph knowledge and compliance.</li><li>Good literacy, attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately.</li><li>Personable, well presented and focused on delivering excellent customer service.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p><ul><li>Additional lifting qualifications such as Slinger signaller, or lift supervisor (CPCS, ALLMI or NPORS)</li><li>Working within remote environments, supporting infrastructure and telecoms projects.</li><li>Experience of power steer and extending trailers.</li><li>Experience with heavy lorry loader cranes.</li><li>Experience of 4x4 and tracked vehicles</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications and certifications</strong></p><ul><li>Valid HGV Class 1 (Category CE) licence, Class 2 (category C) will be considered. xwzovoh </li><li>Full Driver CPC.</li><li>Valid, in-date lorry loader crane certification (CPCS, NPORS (with hologram) or ALLMI)</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Practical Test </strong>: This is be a two stage process for interviews</p><p>1.Face to Face or teams call interview</p><p>2.Successful candidates will be ask to attend a driving and equipment test</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Package</strong></p><p>Competitive salary commensurate with experience, with higher basic and additional pay available for extra skills, qualifications and extensive crane knowledge.</p><p>Full uniform, cab overnights allowance, enhanced rates for weekends/unsocial hours and regular training updates/courses</p>
