You’ll help keep our fleet of vehicles and plant equipment safe, roadworthy, and running efficiently.<br><br>This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same—from diagnosing faults to carrying out repairs and servicing a wide range of vehicles.<br><br>What You’ll Be Doing<br><br> * Servicing, maintaining, and repairing light and heavy vehicles and plant equipment<br><br> * Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults<br><br> * Carrying out inspections, servicing, and MOT testing<br><br> * Completing repairs to a high standard<br><br> * Keeping accurate job records and paperwork<br><br> * Following all health & safety procedures<br><br> * Supporting and mentoring apprentices<br><br> * Helping improve workshop efficiency and productivity<br><br>What they are Looking For<br><br>Essential:<br><br> * Experience working in a workshop or garage<br><br> * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills<br><br> * Ability to work independently and as part of a team<br><br> * Good organisation and time management<br><br> * Knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance (cars, HGVs, or plant)<br><br> * Understanding of health & safety practices<br><br> * Full UK driving licence<br><br>Qualifications (or willing to work towards):<br><br> * City & Guilds (or equivalent in vehicle maintenance)<br><br> * MOT Tester licence<br><br> * HGV Licence (Category C)<br><br>Desirable (Nice to Have):<br><br> * HGV Class C+E licence<br><br> * Experience with plant machinery<br><br> * IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)<br><br> * Ongoing professional development<br><br>Key Skills<br><br> * Problem-solving and decision-making<br><br> * Communication and teamwork<br><br> * Ability to stay calm xwzovoh under pressure<br><br> * Planning and prioritising workload<br><br>Working Hours & Flexibility<br><br>* Occasional out-of-hours work may be required<br><br>* Participation in an on-call/standby rota<br><br>* Training and development opportunities provided<br><br>Other Requirements<br><br>* Willing to wear PPE/uniform<br><br>* Commitment to health & safety and equality standards<br><br>Why Join them?<br><br>* Work on a varied fleet of vehicles and equipment<br><br>* Be part of a supportive, skilled workshop team<br><br>* Opportunities for training and career development<br><br>* Contribute to essential public services
