If you thrive on excellence, enjoy influencing accreditation bodies, and want to lead high-performing technical teams, this is your chance to make a tangible industry impact.<br>Main Purpose of the Role<br>This role is the cornerstone of technical strategy and our global reputation.<br>As Technical Director, you will:<br>Define and safeguard the quality, compliance, and integrity of all learning products, consultancy services, and assessments.<br>Ensure programmes meet or exceed standards set by NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA, and other awarding/regulatory bodies.<br>Drive innovation, set the technical vision, and lead specialist teams across the lifecycle of programme design, delivery, and assessment.<br>Key Responsibilities<br>Lead technical strategy aligned with industry standards, regulatory updates, and awarding-body requirements.<br>Serve as the senior authority for NEBOSH, IOSH, and IEMA programmes.<br>Oversee the quality of all learning content, assessments, marking guides, and digital materials.<br>Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory and awarding bodies (NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA, BOHS).<br>Respond to HSE, ISO 45001, and wider industry changes.<br>Ensure internal QA processes meet accreditation standards.<br>Provide expert leadership to technical, consultancy, and quality teams.<br>Guide innovation in course development, CPD creation, and digital-first learning.<br>Represent the organisation at industry forums, qualification review boards, and professional networks.<br>Oversee high-value client projects and complex escalations.<br>Manage internal and external audits (NEBOSH, ISO 9001/45001, EQA).<br>Track industry trends, emerging risks, and legislative changes.<br>Mentor tutors, assessors, and technical specialists.<br>Drive commercial value through resource planning and quality-focused cost control.<br>Lead budget planning and contribute to wider strategic goals.<br>What We're Looking For<br>Essential:<br>Commerciality with client-focused solutions<br>HSE leadership experience (NEBOSH-accredited training centres or consultancy)<br>In-depth knowledge of NEBOSH Diploma syllabi, marking criteria, and assessment methods<br>Familiarity with IOSH, ISEP, BOHS, and other awarding frameworks<br>Expertise in global HSE legislation, risk management, accident investigation, and safety management systems<br>Experience managing technical, consultancy, or quality teams<br>Proven delivery of high-stakes assessments and accredited programmes<br>Ability to interpret and apply standards (ISO 45001, ISO 9001)<br>Chartered status (CMIOSH, CEnv, FIIRSM, etc.)<br>Desirable:<br>Experience as NEBOSH examiner, IOSH reviewer, or EQA auditor<br>Experience leading digital transformation in HSE learning/assessment<br>Engaging with senior clients across high-risk industries (construction, oil & gas, manufacturing, transport)<br>About Us<br>We are a leading provider of Health, Safety, and Environmental training and consultancy. xwzovoh <br>Our mission: Empower organisations and individuals worldwide to create safer, smarter, and more sustainable workplaces.
